The Creative Producer is the creative and operational owner of the studio's original content properties — podcasts, branded series, and short-form/AI-generated content. This role sits at the intersection of creative direction, production management, and client/brand strategy: he/she is responsible for taking an idea from a blank page to a fully produced, distributed, and performing piece of content, and for doing this repeatedly and reliably across multiple shows at once. Beyond individual shows, the Lead Producer also builds the underlying systems — workflows, SOPs, and lightweight production infrastructure — that let the studio scale its output without sacrificing quality. This is a role for someone comfortable being hands-on with production while also thinking like an operator responsible for a growing content business.
Originate new podcast/branded content formats from scratch defining the concept, tone, guest/talent strategy, and episode structure. Take each property from a zero-audience starting point through a defined growth path, using early episodes to test and refine format before scaling production. Set and track concrete growth targets (subscribers, cumulative views, engagement rate) for each IP and adjust creative direction based on what the data shows is working.
Own every stage of the production pipeline: pre-production (concept, scripting/outline, guest booking, scheduling, logistics), production (recording/shoot day management, on-set direction), post-production (edit oversight, quality control, sign-off), and distribution (publishing schedule, platform-specific formatting, coordination with marketing). Run this pipeline in parallel across several concurrent shows, prioritizing effectively when timelines overlap and maintaining consistent quality standards regardless of how many productions are active at once.
Identify recurring bottlenecks or inconsistencies in how content moves from idea to publish, and design documented workflows that remove them. Build and maintain a lightweight content management system (e.g., in Notion) that tracks every show's status, deadlines, and ownership so nothing depends on institutional memory. Continuously refine these systems as the studio's output grows, with the explicit goal of increasing production throughput without proportionally increasing headcount or cost.
Build and maintain a reliable network of freelance editors, studios, equipment vendors, and other production partners. Negotiate rates and terms that keep production costs predictable while securing access to better equipment, locations, or talent than the studio could get on an ad‑hoc basis. Evaluate new vendors as needs change and maintain a bench of backups so a single vendor issue never blocks a production timeline.
Work with the SMM to get data and monitor each show's performance across relevant platforms (YouTube, Spotify, and others as applicable). Use this data to make specific, evidence-based changes to format, episode length, thumbnail/title strategy, or release cadence — rather than relying on intuition alone.
Direct the work of editors, designers, and production coordinators assigned to active shows, setting clear briefs and reviewing output against both creative intent and technical quality. Coordinate across functions — working with marketing on distribution and with sales on brand deliverables — so that production timelines stay aligned with broader business commitments. Provide feedback and guidance that raises the skill level of the team over time, not just the quality of a single deliverable.
Stay current on generative AI and other emerging production tools (e.g., AI video generation, AI-assisted editing) and identify where they can realistically improve speed or output variety without compromising quality. Pilot new tools on lower‑risk content before recommending them for client-facing or flagship productions, and build simple guidelines so the wider team can use them consistently.
