Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited seeks a CPU Software Architect with 2–10 years of software engineering experience and strong C/C++/assembly/python skills. You will optimize software for high performance and low power, understand Linux internals, CPU architecture and OS concepts, and run benchmarks to ensure target performance.

You will collaborate with CPU, compiler and kernel teams plus external partners, delivering scalable solutions for future workloads across product segments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages listed above.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, CPU architecture and OS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Leverages CPU architecture to develop/optimize software for high performance and low power.
• Runs benchmarks and validates pre- and post-silicon performance and power goals.
• Develops new benchmarks for upcoming workloads across product segments.
• Analyzes workloads across libraries, compiler, assembly, runtime and algorithms.
• Collaborates with internal/external teams to meet CPU performance requirements.

Strong problem solving skills - look at big picture and unorthodox ways to solve challenging performance problems

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Leverages knowledge of CPU Architecture to develop and/or optimize Software for high performance and low power.
• Run benchmarks for applications and performs critical pre- and post-silicon verification to ensure performance and power goals are met.
• Develops new benchmarks for upcoming areas and workloads across product segments
• Understands software workloads at next level (libraries, compiler, assembly, runtime, algorithms) and evaluates optimization opportunities
• Collaborates with internal (CPU, Compiler, Kernel) and external (benchmark vendors, open source community) teams to implement solutions that meet CPU performance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
