Job summary

AMD Hyderabad seeks a verification engineer to join the Core design and verification team. You will work at the micro-architectural level on high-performance x86 cores, handling multi‑million gate designs and GHz verification, with exposure to advanced process nodes.

Candidates should have hands-on verification experience, strong C++/SystemVerilog testbench skills, and a solid understanding of the verification cycle, debugging, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of ASIC design verification experience.
• Hands-on verification experience with C++/SystemVerilog testbench development.
• Strong understanding of OOP concepts, programming skills, and debugging skills.
• Experience with x86, ARM, or any other industry standard microprocessor ISA is preferable.
• Understanding of low-power design verification techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify high performance x86 core ISA features, clock, reset, and power features of the processor.
• Verify power management features, cache, coherency, and datapath.
• Execute test plan to develop testbench components for feature verification.
• Execute coverage plan for verification closure.
• Understand the micro‑architecture specification and root‑cause regression failures by correlating the spec to the design.
• Understand the existing testbench setup and look for opportunities to improve the testbench.
• Commitment to innovation, excellent communication, proper documentation, and independently driving tasks to completion.

Job description

In this role, you will work with the Core design and verification team to develop high performance and ultralow-power x86 microprocessor cores. You will work at the micro-architectural level, tackling multi-million gate designs and high‑frequency (GHz) verification, gaining experience with advanced technology nodes and state‑of‑the‑art verification methodologies.

The Person

Candidates should have hands‑on experience verifying complex designs and a good understanding of the complete verification cycle. Strong programming and debugging skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Verification of high performance x86 core ISA features, clock, reset, and power features of the processor.
