Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Cost Manager with 12–15 years of experience in commodity management within engineering and manufacturing sectors. The role emphasizes costing, negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, procurement, and finance teams.

You will analyze material indexation, develop cost models, calculate machine hour rates and implement benchmarking to drive profitability and supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have 12–15 years in commodity management within Engg/Manufacturing Industry.
• Experience in commodity mgmt, commercial negotiations, costing and familiarity with high-tech supply management practices.
• Understanding of manufacturing/assembly processes related to mechanical and electrical components.
• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engg; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee raw material indexation and cost benchmarks for parts and assemblies.
• Develop and apply zero-based cost models and cost breakdown structures.
• Analyze fixed vs variable costs, overhead benchmarks and cost of capital.
• Compute machine hour rates and inventory carrying costs; assess packaging and transport costs.
• Benchmark labor rates globally and optimize procurement, pricing and profitability.
• Lead cross-functional teams (NPI, Product Development, manufacturing, QA, procurement, finance).

Cost Manager

Years of Exp : Min 12~15 yrs in commodity management in Engg / ManufacturingIndustry

Job Experience

• Commodity Mgmt, Commercial Negotiations, Costing and familiarity with Semiconductor, Automotive, Electrical Equipment Manufacturing or high-technology supply management practices, standards and organizations.
• Business & technical understanding of Manufacturing & Assembly processes related to Mechanical, Electrical Components such as Fittings, Tubing, Valves, Regulators, MFCs, Weldments, Machining, OEM’s Proprietary etc.

Educational: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engg. MBA will be an added advantage.

Mandatory Skills & Requirement

• Raw material indexation (LME, SME (Knowledge of Raw material grades), scrap cost)
• Knowledge of zero-based cost model / Cost breakdown.
• Understanding of component cost structure (Fixed, variable cost, Industry benchmark for overhead and profit)
• Machine hour rate calculations. Cost of Capital. Inventory carrying cost
• Labor rates across globe. (Min wages, skilled, unskilled manpower rates, payroll, contract)
• Packaging cost calculation & transportation cost estimates.
• Special process cost estimates (Powder coating, painting, plating, passivation, cleaning) welding, laser cutting etc.
• Market benchmarking
• Proven ability to gain partnerships & excel in working & leading in a cross-functional environment with NPI, Product Development, manufacturing, quality as well as procurement, finance, and product support.

Desirable Skills & Requirement

• Proficient in Data Analytics & Presentation Skills
• Six sigma green belt or above is a plus
