Job summary

Alstom Transportation in Bangalore seeks a full-time Costing Engineer - CDS Interiors to develop cost models for product families and evaluate technical costs. You will collaborate with Project Engineering Managers, Train Design Engineers and Sourcing Teams to embed a cost-conscious culture.

Day-to-day you will create cost models, analyze components, propose design or process improvements for cost reductions, and support supplier negotiations with detailed cost breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering is required or equivalent.
• Experience in cost engineering and cost modeling is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP and/CATIA is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop methodologies to calculate technical costs of components/systems throughout product development.
• Perform cost analysis on components and systems.
• Propose design or manufacturing improvements to reduce technical costs.
• Promote a cost-conscious culture within the engineering team.

Could you be the full-time Costing Engineer - CDS Interiors in Bangalore were looking for

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical costing expertise in a new cutting-edge field. Youll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.

Youll play a key role in shaping cost-efficient designs and fostering a cost-conscious culture within the engineering team. Day-to-day, youll work closely with teams across the business (Project Engineering Managers, Train Design Engineers, Sourcing Teams), support the development-to-cost way of working, and much more.

Youll specifically take care of creating cost models for product families and evaluating technical costs, but also contribute to design or process improvements to achieve cost reductions.

Responsibilities

• Applying or developing methodologies to calculate the technical cost of components/systems throughout the product development cycle
• Performing cost analysis on components/systems
• Proposing improvements in design or manufacturing processes to reduce technical costs
• Promoting a cost-conscious culture within the engineering team
• Providing detailed cost breakdowns to support supplier negotiations
• Sharing feedback from suppliers and formalizing cost-saving opportunities
