Job summary

Asgs Empact Consulting in Mumbai seeks a Cost Accountant to prepare and maintain product and process costing for food products, and to calculate and monitor raw material, packaging, labor, overhead costs.

You will analyze variances against standards, prepare cost sheets and profitability MIS, support budgets and forecasts, and collaborate with procurement and production teams to drive cost reduction and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product and process costing for food products.
• Calculate and monitor raw material, packaging, labor, manufacturing, and overhead costs.
• Analyze actual costs against standard costs and identify variances.
• Prepare cost sheets, profitability reports, and management MIS.
• Monitor inventory valuation, stock consumption, wastage, and production losses.
• Track raw material and packaging material costs and their impact on product margins.
• Conduct variance analysis related to material usage, purchase prices, production costs, and overheads.
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and cost-control plans.
• Work with procurement to analyze purchase prices and vendor cost changes.
• Coordinate with production to monitor efficiency and wastage.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to costing and inventory.
• Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of inventory and manufacturing costs.
• Assist audits by providing cost-related reports and documentation.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Maintain accurate costing records and ensure compliance with costing practices.
