Overview
Corona Reconciliation and Exceptions Management - Senior Software Engineer
Responsibilities
- Build, extend, optimize, and maintain a reconciliation platform.
- Provide technical support and solutions to business users of the Corona Reconciliation and Exceptions Management software.
- Collaborate with the bank's IT and business teams to understand user requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, user manuals, and support logs.
- Assist in the implementation of software updates and patches, ensuring compatibility and stability.
- Provide training and guidance to business users on the effective use of the Corona software.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by managing and prioritizing support requests efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of proven experience with SmartStream’s Corona Reconciliation and Exceptions Management software.
- Proven experience in the financial services industry.
Development Responsibilities
- Core Reconciliation Logic Development: design and implement algorithms to match, compare, and reconcile high volumes of data across different sources (e.g., transactions, trades, payments); develop rules and workflows to identify mismatches, exceptions, and anomalies; automate data cleansing and transformation to improve reconciliation accuracy.
- Data Integration and Processing: build connectors and pipelines to integrate data from external systems, APIs, and file formats (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON); optimize the data ingestion process for real-time and batch processing; implement validation and transformation logic to standardize incoming data for reconciliation.
- Backend Development: develop backend services to handle reconciliation logic, exception workflows, and business rules; use languages such as Java, Python, or C# to build scalable components; implement secure APIs for external systems to interact with the application.
- Performance Optimization: optimize application performance for high-volume environments (e.g., millions of transactions); use indexing, caching, and parallel processing techniques; profile and refactor code to reduce latency and resource consumption.
- Automation and Exception Handling: automate recurring reconciliation tasks and implement workflows for exception resolution, including alerts, notifications, and resolution tracking.
- Security and Compliance: develop secure features to protect sensitive financial data (e.g., encryption, access control); ensure compliance with regulatory standards like GDPR, HIPAA, or financial industry guidelines.
- Integration with SmartStream Products: customize and extend the Corona platform, ensuring seamless integration with other SmartStream solutions (e.g., TLM).
- Reporting and Analytics: develop reporting tools to provide insights into reconciliation results, trends, and exception patterns; integrate analytics to monitor performance and identify improvement areas.
- Testing and Debugging: write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; debug and resolve issues, particularly related to data mismatches or system integrations.
