Job summary

Responsibilities

• Interact with global Centres of Excellence and Client Operations teams to complete day-to-day activities for assigned clients and portfolios.
• Understand settlement processes and analyze clearing house activities to ensure proper post-settlement steps.
• Review instructions from sales/trading desks, validate against data, and support reconciliation/enrichment processes.
• Collaborate with team members and Client Operations to ensure smooth processing in line with fund policies.
• Identify unusual or potentially suspicious activity and escalate per policy.
• Coordinate with settlements and reconciliation teams to ensure trade capture and amendments align with market guidelines.

As a Core Operation Associate, you will be involved in:

• Interact internally with global Centres of Excellence, Client Operations teams, business unit Shared Service teams and Joint Venture operations teams to complete applicable day-to-day activities, relating to the overall processing for assigned clients and portfolios.
• A solid understanding of the settlement process, along with the ability to analyze clearing house activities (DTC, DTCC, CREST, Euroclear) to confirm that pre- and post-settlement steps are properly followed.
• Ability to review faxed and electronic instructions from the sales and trading desk, validate them against static data, and understand reconciliation and enrichment processes.
• Work closely with team members, shared services, and Client Operations to ensure smooth processing in line with the fund’s policies.
• Familiar with back-up procedures when system application and/or transmission issues occur. Supports individual and team efforts in researching and resolving exceptions and inquiries, building Prime Broker relationships, and liaising as needed to obtain help with exception resolution.
• During normal day-to-day operations, responsible for identifying unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and reporting and/or escalating it in line with corporate policy and the relevant operating procedures.
• Collaborate with the internal settlements and reconciliation team to assess whether trade booking, trade capturing, validation, enrichment activities, and any amendments are in line with market guidelines and internal cut-offs.
• Should be familiar with the trade life cycle and have a fair understanding of the various guidelines (ISITC, IFSA, TMPG and GBP guidelines), as well as a good understanding of claims flow.
• Good understanding of NOSTRO and other payment systems (MT202, Fed wire, CREST). Familiar with different types of Swift message (MT299, 300, 199, 399, 546 etc.)and their usage.
• Should have strong exposure to initiating client/ Counterparty / third-party calls and should have worked on a process improvement project.
