Position Summary
- Design the BMS system for modular buildings (small to medium scale) based on input data, define materials and equipment, and develop construction documentation at the Pune Global Engineering Center.
- Manage engineering model design in Revit and prepare standard control documentation such as plans, sections, elevation views, I/O lists, riser diagrams, sequence of operations, equipment technical specifications, and material requirements.
- Lead the BMS documentation set, equipment and material specifications, and create "for construction" documentation.
- Set up BMS equipment (field equipment, network switches, PLCs, servers, operator workstations).
- Design and validate fire alarm system and security system documentation sets.
- Support internal testing and FAT in factory or SAT based on site location and support commissioning teams on site (NA, India, Australia, Global).
- Define security system and fire alarm system design requirements.
- Preferably an engineer with Data Center Projects or similar critical infrastructure experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop project conceptual and detailed designs.
- Develop electrical project documentation (riser and network diagrams, I/O lists, application and functional diagrams, instructions, material submittals, presentations).
- Follow international, national, and company standards and good engineering practices.
- Participate in kick-off meetings, regular project team meetings, and on-site coordination meetings.
- Report project status to the Project Lead Engineer.
- Cooperate proactively with all team members during project execution.
- Control and support controls integrators with the lead Controls engineer.
- Initiate RFIs where additional clarification is needed.
- Develop defined documents according to the document list (DLIST).
- Communicate with stakeholders in North America, India, EMEA, or Australia based on project & time overlap.
- Specify Bill of Materials and services required for project execution.
- Specify necessary certificates for materials that need to be ordered.
- Support suppliers with additional information during the bidding phase of sourcing.
- Provide technical approval for received supplier offers.
- Provide technical support to subcontractors and installers during production/assembly.
- Cooperate with Manufacturing and Site deployment engineering teams.
- Cooperate with Site Manager during assembly, providing technical solutions to raised issues.
- Cooperate with Quality Control during quality control of components/systems and assembly on site.
- Cooperate with Commissioning engineer on testing documentation development.
- Support role in internal testing and FAT and/or Site team for SAT.
- Develop installation and maintenance documentation.
- In factory, on-site and/or remote commissioning and deployment of BMS.
- Review and approve outsourced BMS design and commissioning with the lead Controls engineer.
- Approve or reject technically received supplier offers with the lead Controls engineer.
- Approve or reject suggested changes by subcontractor on approved workshop documentation with the lead Controls engineer.
Qualifications
- Education: B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering (Automation) or Diploma with +3 years of experience, or M.E./M.Tech.
- 3–5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in English (oral and written).
- Software: AutoCAD, Revit (desired), ICT, Security Systems, SQL, PLC/DDC software package, SCADA software package knowledge.
- Technical skills: Programming, SCADA, PLC, Ethernet networks, DDC (preferred), Modbus (preferred), NFPA, IS & NBC standards awareness.
- Other skills: independent, attention to detail, problem solving, organization, creativity, teamwork.
Travel Requirements
Up to 25% travel required.
