Job summary

Bechtel India is seeking a skilled Control Systems Designer to develop 2D/3D CAD designs for earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing. You will create detailed models, plan work, and review drawings for quality while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with S3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and PDS, and understand NFPA 72 and remote I/O design for major DCS vendors. This role is based in Chennai with a full-time office/project setup.

Qualifications

• Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in S3D, SPI, SPR, Navisworks, PDS, AutoCAD, MicroStation and Bluebeam.
• Thorough knowledge in P&IDs, Cable Schedule, 10 List and Network Architecture.
• Fire & Gas Layout and interpretation of NFPA 72.
• Remote I/O Design of major DCS Vendors.
• Reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
• Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials.

Responsibilities

• Develops designs for Controls Systems engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision.
• Assists in constructing detailed scale models
• Ensures compliance with approved Control Systems design standards, installation codes and regulations in own work and by those assigned.
• Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents for quality and accuracy
• Participates in constructability reviews
• Coordinates reviews for bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions
• Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design
• Assists in development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Control Systems designer tasks
• Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Control Systems design
• Generates 2D drawings or 3D CAD design models with minimal guidance

Job Summary:

In this role, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for control systems engineering such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will coordinate compliance and quality in the overall project design.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops designs for Controls Systems engineering systems such asearthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimumsupervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings arecompleted
• Assists in constructing detailed scale models
• Ensures compliance with approved Control Systems design standards, installation codes and regulations in own work and bythose assigned, to provide quality design
• Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documentsprepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionalityand satisfactory completion
• Participates in constructability reviews
• Coordinates the reviews for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and materialrequisitions for materials applicable to the discipline
• Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technicalrequirements
• Assists in the development of work plans, budgets, and schedules for basic Control Systems designer tasksbased on input and direction from supervisor in designated discipline
• Provides on-the-job training for personnel within Control Systems design
• Generates 2D drawings or 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models with minimal guidance from others

Education and Experience Requirements:
