Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Chennai, India, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and select chilled water, cooling water, and related utility systems for international projects. You will coordinate from conceptual (LOD100) to detailed design (LOD400) and work across EPC/EPCM, FEED and other execution modes.

Experience in data centers, semiconductor facilities, or battery manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• 11+ years of relevant experience in EPC/EPCM, FEED and related execution modes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PFDs, schematics and data sheets; review for completeness.
• Coordinate with disciplines, clients/PMC, bidders and vendors.
• Review deliverables of process packages and provide design calculations.
• Prepare mechanical data sheets; manage material and service requisitions.
• Review vendor prints and support engineering workshare across offices.
• Support project/proposal activities and resolve cross-departmental technical issues.

Job Summary

Design / Selection / Engineering of Chilled water and Cooling water system, and other Utility system. Candidate should have worked for execution of Basic/Conceptual Engineering, FEED, EPCM, EPC modes of execution for international projects.

Candidate shall have technical knowledge and experience in performing engineering and coordinating these assignments from conceptual stage (LOD 100) to detailed design (LOD 400).

Candidate having design experience in Data center, Semiconductor facility, and Battery manufacturing will be preferred.

Major Responsibilities

• Preparation of PFDs, schematics/P&IDs, Data sheets. Commenting/review on the same for completeness
• Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
• Review of deliverables of Process Package
• Design Criteria and System Descriptions.
• Design calculations for flow and pressure-drop.
• Design, preparation of Mechanical Data Sheets /Engineering drawings, Material Requisition. Review of Quotes, assessing deviations, raising Technical Queries, Technical Evaluation, Purchase Requisition
• Review of Vendor Prints
• Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode.
• Assist project/proposal activities
• Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects
• Develop standard documentation for use on projects
• Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt
• Providing Inputs for Progress reporting
• Provides technical assistance to other HVAC personnel
• Travel to assist activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites
• Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution

Education And Experience Requirements

• 11+ years of Relevant experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
• The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
• Candidate to mention valid visa available including detail of Type, expiry date. Denial of USA visa earlier at any stage need to be indicated
