Job summary

Hitachi Energy Technology Services Private Limited in Chennai invites an experienced engineer for a role in HVDC protection and control. You will participate in all phases of delivery—from design and testing to deployment of software functions ensuring safe, reliable plant operations.

Travel internationally may be required for commissioning and customer meetings. You should have a B.Tech/B.E in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation and 5–8 years' experience in relay protection systems,

Qualifications

• B. Tech / B.E in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation.
• 5–8 years in Relay Control and Protection systems.
• Knowledge of HVDC/HVAC systems and power system fundamentals.
• Experience in technical tender support or bidding is preferable.
• Experience in substation environments and protection applications is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Be part of all phases of delivery: design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification and deployment of software for safe plant operations.
• Travel internationally for short assignments to sites for commissioning and customer meetings.
• Support Global Projects by adapting HVDC Base Control & Protection Software (MACH).
• Set up and maintain control and protection lab environment for HVDC Base projects.
• Develop Control and Protection Functions / Solutions for future HVDC technologies.
• Support projects in resolving issues related to Control and Protection Functions.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across business units to optimize HVDC solutions.

Your responsibilities

• To be part of all phases of delivery, which includes design, maintenance, testing, integration, verification, and deployment of the software functions needed for safe and reliable operations of plants and transmission links, with the opportunity to also travel internationally for short assignments to our sites for Commissioning and costumer meetings
• Support Global Projects by adapting HVDC Base Control & Protection Software (MACH).
• Set up and maintain control and protection lab environment for HVDC Base projects.
• Develop Control and Protection Functions / Solutions for future HVDC technologies.
• Support projects in resolving the issues related to Control and Protection Functions.
• Coordinate with different stakeholders across the business units to get inputs to optimize the HVDC solutions.

Your background

• Education Qualification: B. Tech /B. E in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation.
• Should have minimum work experience of 5 to 8 years in Relay Control and Protection system.
• Should have knowledge in Power System fundamentals, Substation Control & Protection Must have knowledge in HVDC/HVAC System Knowledge, Control & Protection.
• Experience in technical tender support or bidding is preferrable.
• Experience in substation environment and protection application is an added advantage.
• Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
