Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a skilled Control Solutions Engineer in Bengaluru, India to lead industrial automation initiatives. Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with Carel and JACE PLC platforms and control logic programming.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and system testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the standardization of optimization products across the India and APAC regions.
  • Act as the dedicated regional technical authority for the sales team.
  • Provide rapid, hands-on diagnostic support for the regional service team.
  • Develop, program, and troubleshoot comprehensive automation architectures.
  • Support the implementation of advanced control features and system enhancements.

This role will act as the pivotal, hands‑on technical authority driving the performance and standardization of Armstrong Fluid Technology's control solutions. Operating at the intersection of continuous innovation and regional execution, this role requires practical expertise in industrial automation—specifically PLCs, HMIs, and robust network protocols. You will be instrumental in executing technical responsibilities within the core product development team, while simultaneously serving as the primary engineering backbone for our regional sales, service, and production operations. As key member of the product development team, you will be supporting the sales inquiries, supporting service team to reduce onsite resolution times for field issues, and ensure our optimization deployments are highly standardized, scalable, and built on reliable technical foundations.

Key Accountabilities
Job Accountability
  • Standardization & Product Development: Drive the continuous standardization of optimization products across the India and APAC regions, actively collaborating with global product development to ensure field‑tested, repeatable configurations are integrated into the core R&D roadmap.
  • Pre‑Sales Engineering Support: Act as the dedicated regional technical authority for the sales team, accelerating sales cycles by unblocking complex technical inquiries, advising on customer system requirements, and verifying robust automation architectures.
  • Advanced Field Troubleshooting: Provide rapid, hands‑on diagnostic support for the regional service team, taking direct technical ownership of complex onsite escalations to significantly reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) and minimize customer downtime.
Job Accountability
  • Industrial Automation Execution: Develop, program, and troubleshoot comprehensive automation architectures, utilizing deep expertise in PLCs, HMIs, and diverse industrial network protocols to ensure optimal performance of field installations.
  • Coordinate changes to control logic, configuration, and system documentation to ensure smooth integration.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and deployment activities to ensure performance and reliability.
Job Accountability
  • Support the implementation of advanced control features and system enhancements.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to create and monitor development and rollout plans for new platform capabilities.
  • Coordinate changes to control architecture, firmware, and network configurations.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in control systems engineering, industrial automation, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience with Carel and JACE PLC platforms, control logic programming, and system integration.
  • Deep experience in HVAC application systems and implementation of control features is an asset.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Bacnet) and system testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross‑functional teams and contribute to large‑scale engineering initiatives.
