Job description

You'll own how That Works shows up in public, and then you'll learn to run that same machine for our clients. We build content systems, not just content. By the end of this internship you'll know how to do both: write things worth reading, and build the engine that publishes them consistently without anyone burning out.

We know what we need from you, but it's also important that you know what you want from us. You'll have a genuine say in where you go deep, what you own, and how your role develops. The best version of this internship is one you help define.

YOU'LL WORK ON
  • Writing and editing: LinkedIn posts, thought leadership pieces, long-form breakdowns. Drafting from scratch, and editing AI-assisted drafts to give them the hooks, texture, and point of view that only a human touch brings. There's no editing SOP yet. You'll help write it, and it becomes part of how we deliver for every client after you.
  • Running the content engine: We build automated content workflows for ourselves and for clients: pipelines that turn ideas into drafts, images, and carousels. You'll operate these systems. Feeding them, quality-checking what comes out, scheduling, repurposing one strong idea into five formats. You don't need to know how to build automations; you need to become excellent at running them.
  • Content calendars and consistency: Planning what goes out, where, and when, for us and eventually for clients. Keeping the calendar honest. Noticing when we've gone quiet and fixing it.
  • Community and distribution: Helping us show up consistently across LinkedIn, Reddit, and our site. Everywhere our people are. Watching what lands, tracking engagement, and feeding what you learn back into what we make next.
  • Client content work: As you get good, you'll pick up real client content: drafting for founder voices that aren't ours, adapting to different brand guidelines, and seeing your work published under real companies' names.

Some weeks you'll be deep in a content calendar. Some weeks you'll be editing fifteen drafts. Some weeks you'll be figuring out why one post did 40x the numbers of everything else that month. It changes constantly, and that's the point.

If you want a clearly defined role where you do the same thing every day, this isn't it. If you want to learn how content actually works, the writing and the system behind it, by doing it in real time with real stakes, keep reading.

WHO YOU ARE
  • You already write. Somewhere, anywhere. LinkedIn, a blog, a newsletter, notes app essays nobody's seen. You don't need an audience; you need the habit.
  • You notice content. You can tell why one post worked and another died, and you have opinions about it that you can defend.
  • Organised without being rigid. Content ops is deadlines, calendars, and a hundred small moving pieces. You keep track of what matters and flag things before they become problems.
  • You use AI tools and you can tell when writing sounds like AI. Both halves matter to us equally.
HOW THIS ROLE WORKS

The role has three stages, and moving through them depends on performance, not time served alone.

Months 1 to 3: unpaid internship. Part-time or full-time, whatever your schedule allows. You get trained, you do real work, and we both find out if this is a fit.

Months 4 onwards: paid internship with a monthly stipend. Part-time or full-time, depending on your availability.

Full-time conversion happens after 3 months of the paid internship, or when you graduate if you're still studying, whichever is later. We're not hiring an intern, we're training our first content hire.

If your circumstances change along the way, talk to us and we'll work it out case by case.

WHAT WE OFFER
  • A full-time offer path from day one
  • Real work from day one. No busywork, no coffee runs. Your writing gets published, your calendars ship.
  • Direct access to the founder. You're not three layers away from decisions, you're in the room.
  • Flexible working hours (we care about output, not when you're online)
  • Remote-first with occasional in-person time in Bangalore
  • A monthly stipend once the role converts to a paid internship
  • You'll leave knowing how to run a content operation end to end, which almost nobody your age can say
ABOUT THAT WORKS
