About the Division

The Print/Digital Assistant Project Manager for the Higher Education International Division will help to ensure the assembly, execution, and maintenance of major products according to specified objectives—budget, schedule, and adherence to quality standards. The Print/Digital Assistant Project Manager is part of the broader team that executes annual plans and organizes and prioritizes tasks and teams to ensure delivery.

About the Role

You will work with authors, Pearson Content and Digital Producers, Quality Assurance (QA), Accessibility, Rights and Permissions (R&P) and vendor partners to deliver stable, high‑quality products to improve learner outcomes and maximize instructor impact. You will also manage production schedules for print and digital assets. This role is ideal for a fresher or early‑career professional who is eager to learn project management, risk assessment and mitigation, and digital product creation in the higher education space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content production of selected print, digital, and supplemental content.
  • Production of digital courseware content that will be used in both print and digital delivery.
  • Maintain legacy data on a vast number of series‑specific titles, including print books and editorial supplements, while at the same time helping to guide the list through the transition to a nextGen digital format.
  • Learn how to act as point‑person throughout entire lifecycle process, respond to queries from various stakeholders, serve as knowledge resource for Portfolio team.
  • Learn how to provide high‑level management of a large number of primary authors, development editors, technical editors, supplement authors, copyeditors, and freelance project managers. Negotiate rates, prioritize work.
  • Learn how to provide communication across cross‑functional teams. Includes initiating launch meetings, serving as meeting moderator, and maintaining status reports.a
  • Coordinating and keeping track of budgets in all the projects
  • Learn to drive creation of project schedules; enforce adherence; provide accountability charter for delays.
  • Serve as liaison with Rights and Permission team; ensure quality of coverage; elevate any schedule delays or budget concerns.
  • Identify and manage vendors to schedule, budget, and quality compliance; provide feedback on performance.
  • Enforce system maintenance and data integrity of records; oversee invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Support in contributing to cover and internal design process.

  • Strong time‑management abilities--organizing tasks in a logical and efficient manner allowing for multitasking and making appropriate calls on prioritization.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Work Schedule

This is a full‑time apprenticeship from Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week. The role involves working across several geographies and requires occasional flexibility in supporting the business beyond regular office hours.
