Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Wireless Network Consulting Engineer (NCE) to design, implement, and optimize wireless solutions for large enterprise deployments. You will support Cisco services, translate requirements into designs, and build customer simulations to validate architectures.

You will own deliverables, share lessons learned, and drive technical transitions across projects with minimal supervision while mentoring others as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in wireless RF design for large enterprises.
• Leading WLAN migration and Pre-Deployment Inspection (PDI) engagements.
• Proficiency with Wi‑Fi 7, Python, and Netconf/API.
• Hands-on product knowledge of Cisco Wi‑Fi 7 APs, Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers, and Catalyst Center.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Your Impact

As a Wireless Network Consulting Engineer (NCE), you will drive technology design, implementation, execution, and optimization for projects and accounts to accelerate customer outcomes. You will assist customers with integration and implementation of Cisco technologies, support presale activities by translating business requirements into solution designs and build customer simulations in test labs to resolve and validate issues. You will also build and deliver customer collateral, documentation, and knowledge transfer, drive customer technology transitions influencing solution architectures and services, and act as an individual contributor aligned with company policies and Professional Services’ strategies.

• Associate with customers and internal/external resources on deployment and optimization of Cisco services and solutions.
• Take ownership of task and project implementation for assigned engagements.
• Implement new techniques and methodologies in customer delivery and share lessons learned with the broader team.
• Build and review project deliverables such as design recommendations, high-level and low-level designs, and implementation/change management plans.
• Build and use test environments to resolve sophisticated problems and compatibility issues.
• Demonstrate software skills and tools to configure and deploy Cisco products and solutions.
• Contribute to the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g., scripts, digital signatures).
• Act as a focal point for problem resolution for assigned customer engagements, ensuring accurate and quick resolution of major customer problems across relevant technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experienced knowledge in wireless RF design and wireless network design for large enterprises with branch locations.
• Proven experience leading large WLAN migration projects and complex Pre-Deployment Inspection (PDI) and optimization engagements.
• Proficiency with technologies such as Wi-Fi 7, Python, and Netconf/API.
• Hands-on product knowledge of Cisco Wi-Fi 7 access points, Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers, and Catalyst Center.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, receiving little instruction on routine and new assignments.
