Job summary

Cisco in Pune, India seeks a technical consultant to engage customers, deliver outcomes across the lifecycle, provide Day-2 support, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of experience, CCNP, and strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols. Experience with Cisco platforms and excellent communication are essential. The role emphasizes AI/automation and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (CS/IT or equivalent).
• 2–4 years of experience in technical consulting, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with routing and switching protocols (IGP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, RSTP, LACP, VLAN, VXLAN, etc.).
• Experience with Cisco Routing & Switching platforms (ISR 1800/1900/2900/3900/4000 series, ASR 1000, Cat 9k, 6500/6800/4500).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to engineers and executives.
• CCNP is a must; CCIE-desirable (Routing & Switching).

Responsibilities

• Engages with customers to create value and deliver outcomes, adoption, and renewals. Proactively collaborates cross-functionally teams to ensure a unified customer experience across the lifecycle
• Provide Day-2 support on Cisco products and solutions for customers, leveraging technical expertise, AI and automation, strategic guidance, and innovative solutions to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction
• Serves as a focal point for proactive problem resolution, providing timely support across Cisco technologies
• Develops and delivers technical content and guidance that supports customer engagements, drives solution adoption, and enables customer self-sufficiency
• Creates customer-facing documentation, ensuring deliverables are technically sound, clearly articulated, and aligned with CX standards
• Leverages AI and automation to enhance delivery efficiency, innovation and customer outcomes, while also increasing personal productivity and focus on high-impact work
• Contributes to knowledge sharing and the development of digital intellectual capital, including documentation templates, automation artifacts and other assets that improve Cisco delivery methodology and processes

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology or a similar field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in technical consulting, design, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Experience and good knowledge in routing and switching protocols like IGP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, VDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN, VXLAN etc.
• Knowledge of Cisco Routing and switching Platforms like Cisco ISR 1800/1900/2900/3900/4000 Series routers, ASR 1000, Cat 9k, 6500, 6800, 4500.
• Experience working on medium to large scale enterprise network.
• Experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting and/or network solution designing of Cisco routers and switches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate technology strategy and architecture approach to engineers, executives, and Cisco customers.
• CCNP is a must, CCIE desirable (Routing & Switching).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to influence, motivate and work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment to drive outcomes based plans, programs and execution.
• Prior experience of conducting customer workshops, high level and low level network design experience would be preferred.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies like SDA/SDWAN preferred.
• Knowledge of Nexus Switches or Cisco security products is preferred.
• AL/ML and Network automation skills preferred (Python/Ansible/GoLang/Splunk).
