Job summary

Responsibilities

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Systems Analyst to support Amerant Bank''s technology initiatives, digital transformation programs, application integrations, and ongoing delivery efforts. This role serves as a bridge between business and technology teams, working closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives, analyze requirements, document solutions, and support successful delivery of technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with technical knowledge, enabling effective collaboration with business users, developers, architects, testing teams, and project managers throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.

What you will be doing

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, business processes, operational challenges, and technology needs.
• Gather, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, technical, integration, and reporting requirements.
• Create and maintain business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, process flows, user stories, interface specifications, and related project documentation.
• Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiencies.
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable specifications for technology teams.
• Partner with developers, solution architects, QA teams, and project managers to support solution design, development, testing, deployment, and issue resolution.
• Assist with API, data, application, and enterprise integration requirements across multiple systems and platforms.
• Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect triage, deployment planning, and production readiness activities.
• Track risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
• Prepare project status reports, executive summaries, and stakeholder communications as required.
• Support AI-enabled technology initiatives and digital transformation efforts by ensuring business requirements are properly defined and aligned with strategic objectives.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, and solution review sessions.

What you bring:

• Strong experience in Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or Technical Business Analysis roles.
• Proven ability to gather, analyze, document, and manage business and technical requirements.
• Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, process flows, use cases, user stories, data mapping, and integration documentation.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience working with APIs, system integrations, data flows, and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Experience supporting testing activities, UAT, release planning, and production implementations.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of banking, financial services, lending, or regulatory systems is a plus.
