Job summary

Narayana Health is seeking a skilled Consultant Neurologist to join the Neurology Department at Narayana Health City, Bengaluru. The consultant will provide comprehensive neurological care across OPD, IPD, ICU, and emergency services while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based patient care.

Responsibilities include managing stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, and neurocritical care, interpreting advanced neurological tests, and mentoring residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have MBBS from a recognized medical college.
• MD/DNB in General Medicine (or equivalent).
• DM/DrNB in Neurology from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with NMC or State Medical Council.

Responsibilities

• Conduct OPD consultations and evaluate neurological patients.
• Diagnose and manage stroke, epilepsy, headaches, Parkinson's and movement disorders.
• Provide inpatient care, ward rounds, and emergency neurology consultations.
• Manage acute neurological emergencies including stroke thrombolysis and seizures.
• Interpret MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, NCV and other tests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor outcomes.
• Collaborate with Neurosurgery, Critical Care, Radiology and Rehab.
• Maintain accurate records and discharge summaries.
• Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and follow-up.
• Participate in CMEs, audits, and quality improvement.
• Mentor residents and junior staff.

• Diagnose and manage stroke, epilepsy, headache disorders, Parkinson's disease, movement disorders, neuropathies, multiple sclerosis, and neurodegenerative conditions.
• Provide inpatient care, ward rounds, and emergency neurological consultations.
• Manage acute neurological emergencies, including stroke thrombolysis and seizure management.
• Interpret MRI, CT, EEG, EMG, NCV, and other neurological investigations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with Neurosurgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Rehabilitation, and other specialties.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, discharge summaries, and medical records.
• Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.
• Participate in CMEs, departmental meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor residents, fellows, and junior medical staff as required.

Required Qualifications

• DM/DrNB in Neurology from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council.

• 25 years of post-DM/DrNB experience preferred.
• Candidates with strong exposure to stroke management, epilepsy, neurocritical care, and movement disorders will be preferred.
