Job summary

ERM's Consulting Delivery Hub (CDH) in India seeks a Consulting Senior Associate - Management Systems & Compliance to support management system development, regulatory research, and compliance program tasks. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement management system elements: procedures, manuals, and legal registers.
• Prepare permits, plans, programs, and other compliance deliverables.
• Configure and maintain data on EHS/ESG platforms (Cority/Enablon/Intelex).
• Conduct regulatory research and track obligations under ISO 14001/45001 and major acts.
• Support dashboards, reporting, and basic analytics to stakeholders.

Why this role matters

As a Consulting Senior Associate - Management Systems & Compliance, you will support ERMs global consulting delivery by assisting in the execution of management system development, legal obligation research, permit and plan preparation, and compliance program tasks. Working within the Safe & Sustainable Operations (SSO) service line, you will work with senior consultants and global teams to deliver reliable, high-quality outputs on client projects. This role focuses on hands‑on execution, data handling, documentation, and QA/QC support. It is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in EHS/ESG management systems, regulatory compliance, and digital compliance platforms, while contributing indirectly to global client engagements and to the growth of the CDH-SSO team.

What your impact is

• Support management system development and implementation support, by assisting with discrete legal registers, legal obligation research, compliance calendars, checklists, and simple governance tools.

• Support digitally enabled delivery of industry-standard EHS/ESG platforms such as Cority, Enablon, Sphera, Intelex, and similar systems.

• Contribute to EHSS permit, plan, and program development and to multi‑site compliance program management under the guidance of experienced consultants.

• Support assigned workstreams while maintaining quality and timeline commitments; keep trackers, evidence files, and status reports current.

• Collaborate with global colleagues and CDH-SSO team members, actively participating in learning initiatives and knowledge‑sharing activities.

What will you bring

• Bachelors degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, occupational health and safety, information systems, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.

• Typically, 1+ years of relevant experience (including consulting experience) in EHS/ESG management systems, compliance, environmental management, or a related area.

• Basic understanding of H&S software implementation skills, EHS/ESG concepts, management system frameworks, permits, legal registers, and compliance obligations.

• Strong attention to detail and document control discipline; ability to follow instructions, templates, and project workflows.

• Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and produce quality outputs with support from stakeholders.

• Good written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation and collaborating with global teams.

• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and good data organization skills; familiarity with EHS/ESG platforms.

Preferred qualifications, skills & competencies

• Masters degree in environmental management, sustainability, EHS, environmental policy, information systems, or related fields.

• Exposure to EHS/ESG compliance platforms and trackers such as Cority, Enablon, Sphera, Intelex, legal registers, or compliance calendars.

• Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and international EHS regulatory frameworks such as Clean Air Act, RCRA, OSHA, or other H&S implementation tools.

• Interest in digital, automation, or AI‑enabled tools that improve compliance delivery (e.g., Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint).

• Prior internship or project experience in an EHS/consulting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Help prepare EHSS permits, plans, programs, and other compliance deliverables.

• Assist in configuring, updating, and maintaining data on EHS/ESG compliance platforms such as Cority, Enablon, Sphera, or Intelex, as required.

• Assist with legal obligation research and regulatory tracking under frameworks such as ISO 14001/ISO 45001, Clean Air Act, RCRA, Clean Water Act/NPDES, or EPCRA, with guidance from senior consultants.

• Assist in maintaining compliance platforms, digital tools, and reporting frameworks by updating data, generating reports, and supporting basic dashboard maintenance.
