Job summary

enGen Global is seeking a Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications. You will work with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS and VSAM to build batch and online processes, perform testing, and support production incidents.

The role involves collaborating with distributed teams, adhering to SDLC standards, and contributing to automation and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into solution designs.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL/JCL/DB2/CICS/VSAM.
• Create and optimize batch and online programs, jobs, procedures, and queries.
• Perform unit testing, integration support, and defect resolution.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, data issues, and performance problems; perform root-cause analysis.
• Support release planning, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
• Follow coding standards, source control, documentation, and SDLC processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate work and manage risks.

Support release planning, deployment, production verification, and post-implementation activities.

Follow organizational standards for coding, source control, documentation, security, change management, and software development lifecycle processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to estimate work, communicate risks, and deliver commitments on schedule.

Prepare and maintain technical specifications, program documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Identify opportunities for automation, performance improvement, technical-debt reduction, and modernization.
