Job summary

The Indian Council of Social Science Research is seeking retired engineers for consultancy roles in Delhi. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and have significant experience of 15 to 20 years in government organizations.

The contract duration is initially for six months, with potential for extension based on performance. The remuneration will be fixed, calculated by deducting the basic pension from previous pay.

Job description

Eligibility Criteria

• Retired persons below the age of 62 years as on date of closing of application.
• Holding Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or reputed institute.
• Retired Government servant from any ministry/department or its attached/subordinate offices of Central/State/UT Governments, Autonomous bodies, Statutory Bodies or PSUs at pay level 10 and above (as per 7th CPC) with the qualification mentioned above.

Experience

The retired person must not be below the rank of Assistant Executive Engineer from pay level L‑10 and above as per 7th CPC. Proven experience of at least 15 to 20 years in a Government organization such as CPWD, NPCC, HUDCO, NBCC, PWD or any other Central/state Government organization or statutory body is mandatory.

Remuneration

Fixed monthly amount calculated by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. For retired PSU employees engaged as consultant, the maximum consolidated remuneration will be calculated as per DoT OM No. 3‑10/2014‑SEA‑I/Fin dated 29 March 2022. For Central Govt./Autonomous Bodies employees, remuneration will be calculated as per OM 3‑25/2020‑E.III A dated 9 December 2020 and OM No. 03‑25/2020‑E.III (A) dated 18 October 2023. The fixed remuneration shall remain unchanged for the contract term. No increments or additional allowances such as D.A., HRA, etc. shall be payable.

Contract

Period of contract is initially for six months and may be extended subject to the performance of the candidate and further requirement of ICSSR.

Additional Conditions

• Number of posts is tentative; ICSSR reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts and may or may not fill any post(s).
• Prescribed qualifications are minimum; mere possession and fulfillment of qualifications does not entitle the candidate to be called for interview.
