Job summary

DR.KAMAKSHI Memorial Hospital Pvt. Ltd. in Chennai seeks a Consultant Dermatologist to diagnose and manage acute and chronic skin, hair, and nail disorders.

You will perform biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, and cosmetic procedures, while guiding patients and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. The candidate should have MBBS with MD/DNB in Dermatology or DDVL and be registered with NMC or State Medical Council, with 2–5 years of consultant experience in a multispecialty setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold MBBS with MD/DNB in Dermatology or DDVL/DM in Dermatology.
• Registration with National Medical Commission or State Medical Council is required.
• Experience of 2-5 years as a Consultant Dermatologist in a multispecialty hospital or dermatology clinic.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic skin, hair, and nail disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive OPD consultations and inpatient dermatology care when required.
• Perform dermatological procedures including skin biopsies, cryotherapy, electrocautery, and excision of skin lesions.
• Diagnose and treat eczema, psoriasis, acne, vitiligo, fungal infections, allergic skin diseases, and STIs.
• Evaluate and manage hair disorders including alopecia and scalp diseases.
• Perform cosmetic/aesthetic procedures: chemical peels, lasers, Botox, fillers, PRP, skin rejuvenation.
• Perform dermoscopy and skin cancer screening where applicable.
• Counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment plans, skincare, prevention, and follow-up.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management.
• Maintain records, prescriptions, procedure notes, and clinical documentation.
• Ensure infection control practices, patient safety, and NABH standards.
• Participate in CMEs, audits, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold medical ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Medical Director or Hospital Management.

Diagnose and treat conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, vitiligo, fungal infections, allergic skin diseases, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Evaluate and manage hair disorders, including alopecia and scalp diseases. Perform cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology procedures, including chemical peels, laser treatments, botulinum toxin (Botox), fillers, PRP, and skin rejuvenation (as per expertise). Perform dermoscopy and skin cancer screening where applicable. Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, skincare, preventive measures, and follow-up care. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management. Maintain accurate patient records, prescriptions, procedure notes, and clinical documentation. Job Specification Qualification MBBS with MD/DNB/DDVL in Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy. Registration Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council Registration. Experience Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Consultant Dermatologist in a multispecialty hospital or reputed dermatology clinic. Experience in cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology is an added advantage. Skills Required Strong clinical expertise in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
