Job summary

EY Bangalore seeks a Consultant in Business Consulting Risk - Internal Audit for Financial Services. You will execute client engagements, review working papers, and prepare reports and presentations for audit committees.

The role requires CA/ CIA or MBA with 2–4 years in risk advisory/IA in financial services, strong IA standards knowledge, and ability to manage multiple projects and mentor juniors.

Qualifications

• Awareness of internal auditing standards (IIA/ICAI).
• Ability to build and sustain client relationships with functional heads and influencers.
• Anticipate engagement risks and elevate issues appropriately.
• Coach and develop junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential red flags related to the engagement.
• Demonstrate industry expertise and understanding of trends and leading practices.
• Prepare reports, deliverables, status updates, and audit committee presentations.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects as directed by managers.
• Handle data analytics tools (eg, Access, ACL).
• Ensure compliance with engagement plans and risk management procedures.
• Develop strong working relationships with client process owners.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Execution on client engagements - Ensure quality delivery as per client requirements.
• Review of working papers & client folders. Suggest ideas on improving engagement productivity and identify opportunities for improving client service.
• Identify areas requiring improvement in the client's business processes to enable preparation of recommendations.
• Identify & internally escape and potential red flags related to the engagement.
• Demonstrate industry expertise (detailed understanding of the industry, trends, issues/challenges and leading practices).
• Preparation of reports/deliverables/status updates/audit committee presentations.
• Demonstrate ability of multi-task and manage multiple projects as directed by the managers.
• Handling data analytics - Access, ACL etc.
• Ensure compliance with engagement plans and internal quality & risk management procedures.
• Develop strong working relationships with client (process owner/functional heads).
• Attention to detail and mentor young interns and analysts within the practice.
• Contribute to knowledge management sessions within the practice.
• Identify and escape potential business opportunities for the firm on existing client engagements.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Chartered Accountant/Certified Internal Auditor/Masters in Business Administration.
• 2 to 4 years of post-qualification experience in risk advisory/related internal audit experience into financial services sector.
