Job summary

Thompsons HR Consulting Pvt Ltd is seeking a Construction Supervisor (Civil / Infrastructure / Land Development & Site Infrastructure) for the PMC Power Generation Project in India. The role focuses on daily site inspections, front readiness, and interface coordination to ensure safe, timely construction aligned with specs and schedules.

You will oversee earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, and site infrastructure, coordinating across disciplines, managing NCRs, and supporting QA/QC and HSE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• 20+ years of construction supervision experience in infrastructure, industrial, energy, or power generation projects.
• Experience supervising land development, site grading, roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure works.
• PMC, EPC, or Owner's Engineer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with drawings, specs, and procedures.
• Supervise land development, earthworks, grading, roads, drainage, utilities, fencing, hardscaping and site infrastructure construction activities.
• Verify work front readiness including drawings, permits, materials, equipment, access and manpower.
• Coordinate interfaces between civil, infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, and construction disciplines.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure works align with project requirements and schedules.
• Identify construction constraints, interface issues, and resolve work front conflicts promptly.
• Support QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements.
• Raise, track, and close NCRs, observations, and corrective actions.
• Manage punch lists and close-out during construction and handover phases.
• Verify completion of earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities and site infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, surveying, procurement, and construction teams to support project execution.
• Monitor progress against schedules and report delays, risks and recovery actions.
• Participate in walkdowns, readiness reviews and construction completion inspections.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection records, and construction progress updates.

Job Purpose

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for supervising civil, land development, and site infrastructure works to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role focuses on daily site inspections, work front readiness verification, interface coordination, and NCR/punch-list management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and procedures.
• Supervise land development, earthworks, grading, roads, drainage, utilities, fencing, hardscaping, and site infrastructure construction activities.
• Verify work front readiness prior to commencement of works, including availability of drawings, permits, materials, equipment, access, and manpower.
• Coordinate and verify interfaces between civil, infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, and construction disciplines.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are executed in accordance with project requirements and approved schedules.
• Identify construction constraints, interface issues, and work front conflicts, and coordinate timely resolution.
• Support quality inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements.
• Raise, track, and support closure of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), observations, and corrective actions.
• Manage punch list identification, follow-up, and close-out activities during construction and handover phases.
