Job summary

Adobe’s Developer Platform in India is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to define and evolve the architecture of developer‑facing surfaces. You will build scalable React features, implement reusable components, and ensure accessibility and performance across devices.

You will guide modernization, lead code reviews, and mentor teammates while collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive end‑to‑end experiences.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of frontend or full‑stack development experience with a strong frontend focus.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and modern React (hooks, context, performance).
• Strong understanding of reusable component design and state‑management patterns.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the frontend architecture for ADP’s surfaces (Developer Website, Console, Distribution).
• Build and maintain high‑quality, scalable React features with accessible UI.
• Create reusable components and patterns aligned with Spectrum design system.
• Promote modern frontend standards and tooling across the team.
• Lead design and code reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
• Investigate and resolve UI performance and cross‑browser issues.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver end‑to‑end experiences.
• Mentor and grow engineers on the team.

The Adobe Developer Platform (ADP) connects Adobe’s products to the world’s developer ecosystem. We build the tooling, SDKs, runtimes, and developer-facing surfaces that empower thousands of third‑party developers to extend and integrate with Adobe’s products, including the Developer Website, Developer Console, Developer Distribution, Adobe Exchange, App Builder, and I/O Events. Millions of developers rely on these surfaces to manage API credentials, event subscriptions, extensions, and integrations. What You’ll Do

• Define and evolve the frontend architecture for ADP’s developer-facing surfaces, including the Developer Website, Developer Console, and Developer Distribution.
• Build and maintain high‑quality, scalable React features, translating complex product and design requirements into intuitive, performant, and accessible user interfaces.
• Build reusable components, libraries, and patterns that create consistency across ADP surfaces, aligned with Adobe’s Spectrum design system.
• Drive adoption of modern frontend standards across the team, including state management, modular architecture, and build tooling.
• Lead design and code reviews, raising the bar for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Investigate and resolve UI performance and scalability issues across browsers and devices in complex production environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams across ADP to deliver cohesive end‑to‑end experiences.
• Support the growth of engineers on the team through mentorship and collaborative learning.

What You Need To Succeed

• 7‑10 years of frontend or full‑stack development experience with a strong frontend focus.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and modern React (hooks, context, performance optimization).
• Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture, including reusable component design and state‑management patterns.
• Experience building large‑scale, high‑performance web applications.
• Solid command of HTML, CSS, and responsive, accessible web development (WCAG).
• Proficiency with frontend build tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn) and Git.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services via APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

• Backend or full‑stack experience with Node.js or Java, and comfort working with cloud services or serverless runtimes.
• Experience with Adobe’s React Spectrum design system or similar component library ecosystems.
• Familiarity with extensibility frameworks, plugins, or SDK development.
• Exposure to micro‑frontend architectures.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Cypress).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Awareness of internationalization (i18n) and localization challenges in frontend development.
• Experience on a platform or ecosystem team serving external developers.
