Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Component Engineer for Doors System – Customer Services to provide technical support for Doors System during its Utilization and Support phase. The role involves on-site repair, overhaul, upgrade activities, BOM management, and documentation updates.

You will influence bids and development phases by capturing and validating customer requirements, driving reliability improvements, and performing root-cause analyses with corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 6–10 years of experience in railway domain, specifically Doors systems.
  • Deep knowledge of doors system architecture, interfaces and performance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Requirement Engineering, including management and traceability.
  • Hands‑on RAMS methodologies and analyses.
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) principles and optimization.
  • Familiarity with RCCA methodologies.
  • Experience in problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with railway maintenance standards, engineering procedures, and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, standards, calculations, and drawings.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Doors System during Utilization and Support phase.
  • Perform on-site repair, overhaul and upgrade activities and manage BOMs and documentation updates.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and customer meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety during Bids/Development.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and define corrective actions for service issues.

As a Component Engineer for Doors System – Customer Services, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers for Doors System during its Utilization and Support phase.

Component Engineer will have an influential involvement during Bids and Development phase of the Doors System. He / She will ensure that customer and stakeholder requirements related to services are rightly captured and validated during Development phase. He / She will ensure that opportunities to improve Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety are identified during Bids / Development phase and are realized during Utilization and Support phase.

Component Engineer will provide technical support for customer queries and component related issues observed during Service. He / She will perform Root Cause Analysis and define Corrective Actions for issues observed during Service.

Component Engineer will provide technical support during “on-site” repair, overhaul and upgrade activities. He / She will manage BOMs and documentation updates for standard overhaul and upgrades. He / She will participate in technical review and customer meetings.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in the railway domain, specifically in Doors Systems.
  • Deep knowledge of railway doors system architecture, functions, interfaces, and performance requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Requirement Engineering, including requirement management and traceability.
  • Hands‑on experience with RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety) methodologies and analyses.
  • Good understanding of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) principles and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with typical Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
  • Experience in technical problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with railway maintenance standards, engineering procedures, and diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of EN14752, EN45545, EN61373, EN50121, EN50125, EN50343.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, standards, calculations, and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
