Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Pune is seeking a Component Engineer for Couplers System - Customer Services to provide technical support during Utilization and Support phase, and participate in bids and development. Qualifications

• Bachelor's/ Master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 6-10 years of progressive experience in the railway domain, specifically in Couplers Systems.
• Deep knowledge of railway Couplers system architecture, functions, interfaces, and performance requirements.
• Strong understanding of Requirement Engineering, including requirement management and traceability.
• Hands-on experience with RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety) methodologies and analyses.
• Familiarity with Life Cycle Cost (LCC) principles and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
• Experience in technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement programs.
• Familiarity with railway maintenance standards, engineering procedures, and diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of Rolling stock Standards like EN15566, EN16019, EN15020, EN18171 EN16839, EN45545, EN61373, EN50121, EN50125, EN50343.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, standards, calculations, and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers for Couplers System during its Utilization and Support phase.
• Influence during Bids and Development phase to capture and validate customer and stakeholder requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve RAMS and LCC during Bids/Development and realize during Utilization/Support.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and define Corrective Actions for issues observed during Service.
• Provide technical support during on-site repair, overhaul and upgrade activities; manage BOMs and documentation updates.
• Participate in technical reviews and customer meetings.

As a Component Engineer for Couplers System - Customer Services, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers for Couplers System during its Utilization and Support phase.

Component Engineer will have influential involvement during Bids and Development phase of the Couplers System. He / She will ensure that customer and stakeholder requirements related to services are rightly captured and validated during Development phase. He / She will ensure that opportunities to improve Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety are identified during Bids / Development phase and are realized during Utilization and Support phase.

Component Engineer will provide technical support for customer queries and component related issues observed during Service. He / She will perform Root Cause Analysis and define Corrective Actions for issues observed during Service.

Component Engineer will provide technical support during "on-site" repair, overhaul and upgrade activities. He / She will manage BOMs and documentation updates for standard overhaul and upgrades. He / She will participate in technical review and customer meetings.
