Job summary

Castrol India, part of the bp Group, is seeking a seasoned professional to join the Competitiveness & Transformation (C&T) team in Pune to drive transformation across the value chain, including product and raw material portfolio, supply chain network and manufacturing sites.

You will lead or support projects with strong PM skills, work with JDE/KINAXIS/SQL data, perform cost modelling, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value and ensure smooth handovers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 9+ years experience, ideally in lubricants, chemicals or FMCG, with delivery track record.
• Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince) preferred.
• Data download from sources like JDE, Kinaxis to perform supply chain cost modelling.
• Analytics tools (Excel, Power BI) to identify insights, solve problems & make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support projects focused on driving competitiveness & transformation for one of Castrol’s PUs with strong project management skills.
• Extract and consolidate data from supply chain systems (e.g., JDE, Kinaxis, SQL, MS Access) and combine datasets for modelling (SQL queries, lookups).
• Perform comprehensive supply chain cost modelling across raw materials, packaging, finished goods, transfer pricing, manufacturing costs, warehousing, logistics, freight, sales and forecasting.
• Support the execution of the C&T agenda, including PCC, OCC, Industrialization and Transformation.
• Drive various supply chain initiatives including digital projects to improve competitiveness and efficiency; ensure projects are implemented at PU level with pace.
• Collaborate with C&T colleagues within PU and global to ensure handover and continuity as projects progress.
• Understand commercials and interpretation of supply chain costs and basics of accounting.
• Support C&T ideation to build a pipeline of opportunities for Competitiveness & Transformation.
• Apply project management guidelines to manage timelines, risks, interdependencies, resources, budgets and value delivery.
• Work with Supply Chain, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, technology and PUs for cross-functional alignment and improved project success.
• Support tracking of value delivery and status reporting for Team, Project Governance and Leadership.

Shift timing: 7AM to 4 PM (IST)

We are looking for someone to join our Competitiveness & Transformation (C&T) team in Supply Chain to drive the execution of projects and initiatives within our Business Transformation Centre in Pune, India. These projects typically involve transformational changes across our value chain, including to our product & raw material portfolio, supply chain network and manufacturing sites.

What you will deliver (responsibilities)

• Lead or support projects focused on driving competitiveness & transformation for one of Castrol’s Performance Units (PUs) with strong project management skills.
• Extract and consolidate data from supply chain systems (e.g., JDE, KINAXIS, SQL, MS Access or any database management tool), Data extraction skills (SQL, MS Access, Excel or any other equivalent software). Combining datasets to meet required modelling scenarios (SQL queries, lookups, etc)
• Perform comprehensive supply chain cost modelling across multiple variables—including raw materials, packaging, finished goods, transfer pricing, manufacturing costs, warehousing, logistics, freight, sales, and forecasting —to enable data driven decision making and network optimization and able to correlate data to supply chain and financial/costing modelling scenarios.
• Support the execution of the C&T agenda, including PCC (Product Cost Competitiveness), OCC (Operational Cost Competitiveness), Industrialization and Transformation.
• Experience of driving the various supply chain initiatives including digital, improve the competitiveness and efficiency of Castrol supply chain by ensuring projects are implemented at PU level effectively and with maximum pace to capture value
• Collaborate with C&T colleagues within PU and global to ensure effective handover and continuity as projects progress through their lifecycle
• Knowledge of commercials and interpretation of supply chain cost & basics of accounting
• Support the C&T ideation process to build a continual pipeline of opportunities for Competitiveness & Transformation
• Adopt project management guideline to manage timelines/breakthroughs, risks, interdependencies, resources, budgets and value delivery
• Work closely with collaborators in Supply Chain, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, technology and performance units to ensure cross functional alignment and improve potential for project success
• Support effective tracking of value delivery and status reporting for Team, Project Governance and Leadership.

What you will need to be successful (experience, job requirements & qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree
• 9+ year experience, ideally within Lubricants, chemicals or FMCG industries, with a solid track record of delivery
• Solid project management experience, ideally with formal qualification (e.g. PMP, Prince)
• Data download from various sources (e.g. JDE, Kinaxis, etc.) to perform supply chain cost modelling scenarios
• Data analysis & cost modelling experience, coupled with the ability to use analytics tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI) to identify insights, solve problems & make decisions
• Proven experience developing relationships & managing collaborators across different teams and org levels
• Ability to manage a diverse set of activities and prioritize effectively to achieve optimum results for the organization
• Able to collaborate effectively with others across different teams, cultures and geographies
