• Proven cross-border trading experience across at least two regions (Africa, Latin America, South/Southeast Asia, Gulf/Middle East).
• Strong understanding of FEMA, trade finance, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the global trading strategy and P&L ownership.
• Origination and counterparty development on a global scale.
• Manage risk, hedging, and access to trade finance.
• Oversee logistics, execution and compliance with international frameworks.
• Build the trading platform, platform operations and team.
• Support banking relationships and capital management.

Global Commodity Trader

Location: Mumbai

CTC- 35 LPA

Essential Experience

• 15- 20 years of experience in physical commodity trading .
• Hands-on experience trading agricultural commodities, including pulses, oilseeds, grains and/or feed/fertiliser inputs.
• Proven cross-border trading experience across at least two of the following regions:
  • Africa
  • Latin America
  • South/Southeast Asia
  • Gulf / Middle East
• Strong understanding of FEMA, trade finance etc
• Deep working knowledge of Incoterms, commodity contracts, GAFTA/FOSFA frameworks, quality specifications and international logistics.
• Established network of producers, processors, exporters, importers, distributors, financial institutions and other relevant counterparties.

Role Overview

• The Global Head of Commodities will have end-to-end responsibility for developing the Group's international trading activities. Building an international commodity origination and trading platform. With established operations across East Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia and other parts of Asia
• The business combines upstream sourcing in producer markets, in-house processing and manufacturing capabilities, and downstream distribution to institutional and hospitality customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting this physical footprint into profitable, scalable and well-hedged global trading flows.
• This is a principal-side trading mandate, with responsibility for trading on the companys own account and under defined trading mandates. The role is supported by physical assets, banking relationships, processing capacity and an expanding international network.
• The mandate is explicitly cross-corridor: identifying arbitrage and supply-demand opportunities between surplus and deficit markets, and structuring the associated pricing, financing, logistics, counterparty and risk framework.
