Job summary

BIG Plate Kitchens in Gurugram is seeking a Kitchen Commis/Line Cook to prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes, ensuring quality and consistency.

Candidate will manage mise en place, assist senior staff, and maintain hygiene, FIFO storage, and waste control during service. Training and guidance to junior chefs are expected as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes as per standard recipes and quality standards.
• Manage daily mise en place and ensure timely food preparation during service.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in kitchen operations.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of food items following FIFO standards.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the senior chef about ingredient requirements.
• Train and guide Commis Chefs when required.
• Ensure minimum food wastage and efficient use of kitchen resources.
• Follow all company SOPs, kitchen policies, and health & safety standards.
