Job summary

Miracle Software Systems, Inc. in India is seeking a Cognos BI Administrator to administer and support Cognos environments across development, testing, and production, monitoring reports, jobs, schedules, services, and SLAs.

You will provide L2/L3 production support, troubleshoot report failures and data-source connectivity issues, perform root-cause analysis, manage upgrades and patches, and coordinate with DBA and infrastructure teams to ensure platform availability and stability.

Job description

• Administer and support Cognos BI environments across different stages while monitoring reports, jobs, schedules, services, system health, and SLAs.
• Provide L2/L3 production support, troubleshoot report failures, scheduling issues, and data-source connectivity problems, and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform root-cause analysis for recurring issues and implement solutions to improve Cognos reliability and performance.
• Manage Cognos upgrades, patches, hot fixes, configuration changes, and weekly restart activities, followed by post-restart health checks.
• Monitor Cognos services, system health, performance, and capacity, troubleshoot slow-running reports and performance-related issues; and support platform availability and stability.
• Manage Cognos users, groups, roles, permissions, and security access, and track licenses and SSL certificates, including renewal and expiry dates.
• Maintain Cognos inventory, configuration details, architecture documents, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Coordinate with DBA, infrastructure, application, and network teams for issue resolution and planned maintenance activities.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities, including IBM ILMT-related tasks, software inventory, and post-change environment validation.
