Qualifications

• Cognos 11 and SSRS expertise with 5–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience eliciting requirements from clients is essential.
• Experience with Cognos framework packages and queries.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify Cognos and SSRS reports as requested by business users.
• Schedule queries to run automatically and email reports to recipients.
• Modify the Cognos framework periodically.
• Develop Informer queries to report on data from Naviga Ad.
• Explore and recommend other reporting tools to replace Cognos.
• Prepare and present written and oral presentations.
• Keep management apprised of project status.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Role

The Financial Reporting Specialist will beresponsible for obtaining report requirements and preparing and delivering insightful financial Advertising reports for Hearst Newspapers at the Corporatelevel and the local market level. The position will also need tounderstand and modify existing reports as requested by the businessusers. Excellent communication skills are a must for the positionbecause of the need to directly interact with business users to gatherrequirements and work with the users to validate and ensure the accuracy of thereports.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Create/modifyCognos and SSRS reports as requested by the business users.
  
• Schedule queriesto run automatically and set up to email reports to recipients.
  
• Modify the Cognosframework on an infrequent basis.
  
• Develop Informerqueries to report on data from Naviga Ad.
  
• Explore andrecommend other reporting tools that can replace Cognos.
  
• Prepares andpresents written and oral presentations.
  
• Keeps managementapprised of project status.
  
• Other duties asassigned.
  

Mandatory skills:
