Ventra Health is seeking a Coding Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to determine CPT and ICD-10 codes based on providers’ documentation for billing.

The role requires four years of Emergency Department and Hospitalist Medicine coding experience; CPC or equivalent certification is preferred and strong knowledge of medical terminology, documentation standards, and data systems is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Four (4) years of Emergency Department and hospitalist coding experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs ongoing analysis of medical record documentation for completeness.
• Provides feedback to Coders and Coding Supervisor on discrepancies and deficiencies.

Job Summary

• The Coding Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is primarily responsible for determining the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes to be applied to patient accounts for billing purposes based on providers’ documentation in the patient’s medical record.

Essential Functions and Tasks

• Assigns appropriate billing codes to patient accounts. Performs ongoing analysis of medical record documentation for completeness.
• Provides feedback to Coders on coding discrepancies.
• Provides feedback to Coding Supervisor on documentation deficiencies.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Four (4) years of Emergency Department (ED) and Hospitalist Medicine coding experience.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent, preferred.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Knowledge of the requirements of medical record documentation.

Compensation

• Base Compensation will be based on various factors unique to each candidate including geographic location, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

• This position is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with company policies.
