Job summary

AECOM India Private Limited seeks an experienced Coastal Engineer to lead planning, design, engineering, and constructability review of coastal and marine infrastructure projects. You will prepare and review drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction methodologies for maritime structures such as breakwaters, revetments, and quay walls.

The role involves reviewing model study reports, metocean data, and dredging/reclamation inputs to inform design validation and project execution.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of relevant experience in Coastal, Marine, Port, and Waterfront Infrastructure Projects.
• Specialization in Coastal/Marine Engineering will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of drawings and specifications for coastal/marine components (breakwaters, groynes, reclamation, quay structures, revetments).
• Prepare technical method statements, work programmes, and resource plans for coastal and marine works.
• Coastal/maritime engineering designs, drawings, and calculations for constructability.
• Review and interpret physical and numerical model study reports for breakwaters, groynes, and other coastal structures, and assess their implications for design and construction.
• Review wave, tidal, current, littoral drift, and metocean data/reports for relevance to design validation and construction planning.
• Provide technical input across maritime and coastal design engineering disciplines including breakwaters, groynes, seawalls, revetments, jetties, quay/berthing structures.
• Evaluate scour protection, littoral drift management, and shoreline stabilization measures.
• Assess design inputs related to dredging, reclamation, and rock armour/geotextile systems.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Coastal Engineer with strong expertise in the planning, design, engineering, and constructability review of coastal and marine infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction methodologies for maritime structures including breakwaters, groynes, seawalls, revetments, jetties, quay walls, reclamation works, and shoreline protection systems.

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
• Specialization in Coastal/Marine Engineering will be preferred.
