Job summary

Dhruv Global School is seeking a caring Co-Teacher to assist the Class Teacher in managing classroom activities and supporting learning for Pre-Primary to Grade 2 students. You will help create a safe, engaging environment and support routine tasks, assessments, and materials preparation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, child safety, and fostering early literacy and numeracy skills while promoting positive behavior and independence.

Qualifications

  • Graduate with D.Ed./D.El.Ed./NTT/ECCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • 1–3 years of experience with Pre-Primary to Grade 2 students.
  • Freshers with relevant qualification may be considered.
  • Strong interest in early childhood/primary education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Class Teacher in planning and conducting daily classroom activities.

Job description

We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Co-Teacher to support the Class Teacher in managing classroom activities, assisting students with their learning and development, maintaining classroom discipline, and creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for children from Pre-Primary to Grade 2.

Key Responsibilities
1. Classroom Support
  • Assist the Class Teacher in planning and conducting daily classroom activities.
  • Support the teacher during lessons, activities, worksheets, projects, and assessments.
  • Help maintain an organized, child-friendly, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Assist in preparing teaching-learning materials and classroom displays.
  • Support smooth transitions between different activities and periods.
2. Student Support & Supervision
  • Provide individual attention and support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Help students understand and complete classroom tasks.
  • Monitor students during classroom activities, breaks, lunch, and other school activities.
  • Ensure students follow classroom rules and maintain appropriate behaviour.
  • Support students in developing good habits, independence, and social skills.
3. Pre-Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist children with basic routines such as settling into class, organizing belongings, eating, and personal hygiene.
  • Support play-based, activity-based, sensory, music, art, and storytelling activities.
  • Help children develop communication, motor, social, and emotional skills.
  • Provide a warm, caring, and nurturing environment for young learners.
4. Primary Responsibilities Grades 1 & 2
  • Assist students with foundational skills in English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, and other subjects.
  • Support reading, writing, phonics, numeracy, and classroom activities.
  • Assist students with worksheets, assignments, projects, and revision activities.
  • Encourage students to participate actively and confidently in class.
5. Student Observation & Assessment
  • Observe students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Maintain basic records of student participation and progress as required.
  • Inform the Class Teacher about students who may need additional academic or behavioural support.
  • Assist with assessments, notebooks, worksheets, and student portfolios.
6. Parent & School Coordination
  • Support the Class Teacher during parent-teacher meetings and school events.
  • Communicate student-related observations to the Class Teacher appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
  • Assist during field trips, celebrations, assemblies, and other school activities.
7. Safety & Child Care
  • Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
  • Monitor students carefully during classroom and outdoor activities.
  • Follow school procedures related to child safety, health, hygiene, and emergencies.
  • Immediately report any accident, injury, or concern regarding a student to the concerned authority.
8. Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain punctuality, discipline, and professional conduct.
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and other staff members.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and school activities.
  • Follow the school's academic policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
  • Continuously develop teaching and classroom-management skills.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Graduate degree with D.Ed./D.El.Ed./NTT/ECCE or relevant teaching qualification preferred.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience working with Pre-Primary to Grade 2 students is preferred.
  • Freshers with a relevant qualification and strong interest in early childhood/primary education may also be considered.
