Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in Software or Cloud Platform Operations or Development projects in an agile environment including service management.
• Experience with cloud platforms and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain cloud-based solutions in collaboration with DevOps Core and Development teams.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and services.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure availability and performance.
• Respond to incidents and restore services promptly.
• Automate provisioning and deployment using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
• Improve cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Development and Security teams to follow best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure security and reliability.
• Provide 24/7 support.
• Work in rotational shifts including bank holidays and weekends.

About the Role:-

As a Cloud Operations Engineer at ZEISS Digital Partners, you will be part of our Zeiss Digital Innovation team and work in a supportive, team-oriented environment that enables the co-design and development of customer-centric digital products.

Responsibilities:-

Your primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of software applications in a cloud environment. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services to support the software application and ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.

• Deploy, and maintain cloud-based solutions in collaboration with DevOps Core team and Development teams
• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and services
• Implementing monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the availability and performance of the software application and infrastructure
• Respond and resolve incidents issues related to cloud infrastructure, services, and software application, ensuring timely restoration of services
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins etc.
• Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure maximum performance and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with Development team and Security teams to ensure and implement the best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance
• Performing regular maintenance, updates, and patches to the cloud infrastructure and services to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Provide 24/7 support
• Willing to work in rotational shifts of 8.5 hours including bank holidays and weekends

Qualifications:-

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 3 - 6 Years of experience in Software or Cloud Platform Operations or Development projects in an agile environment including service management

Required Skills:-

• In-Depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services, specifically Azure or AWSor other cloud platforms
• In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting and other aspects of application operations
• Hands-on experience using monitoring tools such Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics workspace etc.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in IaC / CI-CD ( Terraform, Arm Templates, Ansible, Azure )
• Proficiency in Ops / Incident Exp ( Incident Management , Prod Support , On-call )
• Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Proficient in Linux and typical Unix tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Experience in Cloud Security Operations
• Excellent communication, collaboration skills, ability to work in a team and a professional attitude
