The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of Lighthouse’s product platforms. The role focuses on managing hybrid cloud infrastructure, enabling automation, and delivering robust platform services to development and product teams.
The position emphasizes automation, observability, and continuous improvement to support high-quality software delivery. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential to effectively partner with development, QA, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize hybrid cloud infrastructure on Azure, including monitoring, patching, upgrades, and automation.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), along with logging and configuration management systems.
- Support and scale Kubernetes/container platforms (AKS).
- Drive cloud security practices, including SAST/DAST integration and SecOps maturity initiatives.
- Administer and maintain shared service platforms (e.g., RabbitMQ, MySQL, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch).
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability using observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
- Ensure secure and compliant deployments by adhering to governance, security standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with development and product teams across the SDLC to align on releases, deployments, and priorities.
- Apply Agile and DevOps principles to improve build, deployment, and release processes.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
- Good understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture.
- Experience in monitoring and logging tools.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, applications, and integrations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support occasional off‑hours maintenance activities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience/certification).
- Programming skills in C# (.NET and .NET Core).
- Knowledge of Python, scripting, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep).
- Experience managing cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AKS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and containerization concepts.
- Experience with application packaging, deployment automation, and release management.
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (MS‑SQL) and exposure to NoSQL technologies (e.g., Redis, ElasticSearch, MongoDB).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, ELK stack, Prometheus, PowerBI, etc.).
- Proficiency with Git and modern branching/merging workflows.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Duties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer table.
- Duties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional setting.
- Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
