With a growing portfolio across haematology, oncology and other therapeutic areas, we operate through a global network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and partners to support development, manufacturing and access.

About the Role
About pharma&

pharma& is a privately owned global pharmaceutical company headquartered in Vienna, Austria. We focus on breathing new life into proven medicines, preserving their availability, and ensuring essential treatments reach patients worldwide. With a growing portfolio across haematology, oncology and other therapeutic areas, we operate through a global network of subsidiaries, joint ventures and partners to support development, manufacturing and access.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Analyst at pharma&, you will be responsible for the hands-on administration and improvement of our Microsoft Azure environment, helping keep our cloud services reliable, secure and cost-effective.

Based in our Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, you will work closely with our Azure service provider, Security Analyst and colleagues across the business. Your work will include resolving operational issues, implementing infrastructure changes, strengthening recovery arrangements and improving how we monitor, automate and manage our cloud environment.

This role suits an experienced Azure professional who enjoys troubleshooting, taking responsibility and working with others to see issues through to resolution. The focus is on infrastructure operations and platform administration, working alongside specialist teams and partners where needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Azure infrastructure: Administer subscriptions, resource groups, virtual machines, storage and platform services, maintaining reliable configurations and appropriate governance.
  • Maintain networking and connectivity: Configure and troubleshoot virtual networks, VPN and ExpressRoute connectivity, network security groups, Azure Firewall and private endpoints.
  • Administer identity and access: Manage Microsoft Entra ID configurations, Azure role-based access control, conditional access, managed identities and privileged access in line with agreed security standards.
  • Monitor services and resolve incidents: Use Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to monitor performance and availability. Take ownership of Azure infrastructure incidents and service requests through the IT service desk, coordinating with suppliers and keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Maintain and test recovery arrangements: Manage Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, carry out scheduled restoration and recovery tests, and document results against agreed recovery objectives.
  • Implement security improvements: Work with the Security Analyst to address infrastructure vulnerabilities and security recommendations, using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Policy. Support the technical response to security incidents affecting Azure resources.
  • Manage cloud costs: Monitor expenditure through Azure Cost Management, investigate unexpected increases and recommend practical savings through rightsizing, reservations and better resource utilisation.
  • Automate routine work: Use PowerShell or Azure CLI and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep, ARM templates or Terraform to improve consistency and reduce manual administration.
  • Coordinate supplier delivery: Work with our Azure service provider on support, projects and escalations. Review delivery against agreed requirements and service levels, and ensure documentation and knowledge are shared with the internal team.
  • Support data, AI and communication platforms: Support the administration of Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry and Azure Communication Services, working with the relevant data and application owners on configuration, access, monitoring and costs.
  • Maintain controlled and documented operations: Plan and implement approved infrastructure changes and updates, maintaining change records, rollback plans, technical documentation and operational procedures. Support audit and compliance activities within the agreed infrastructure scope.
What We’re Looking For
  • Approximately five years of experience in IT infrastructure, including substantial recent hands-on responsibility for administering and troubleshooting production Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, Microsoft Entra ID, monitoring and backup services.
  • Practical experience with Azure security, governance and cost management, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy and Azure Cost Management.
  • Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or Azure CLI, with practical experience in at least one infrastructure-as-code tool: Bicep, ARM templates or Terraform.
  • Experience working with managed service providers or external technology partners on operational support and project delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication and the ability to manage priorities independently. You should be comfortable understanding business requirements and explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable Experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Azure Solutions Architect Expert would be an additional advantage.
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments involving Windows Server, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry or Azure Communication Services, particularly platform administration and governance rather than application development.
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences or another regulated industry, including working with documented changes, operational procedures and audit requirements.
Why Join Us?

You will have a hands-on role in developing pharma&’s cloud infrastructure, working with international colleagues and specialist partners. There is scope to make practical improvements to how we operate, automate and secure our Azure environment, with a clear connection between your work and the services the business relies on.

As part of our GCC team in Hyderabad, you will contribute to a global pharmaceutical business focused on keeping proven medicines available to the patients who need them.

Location: Hyderabad, India — office-based at our Global Capability Centre (GCC)
