Job summary

Virtusa is seeking an experienced FinOps/Cloud Cost Manager to own cost visibility, governance, and optimization across cloud environments in Hyderabad. You will build cost dashboards, run forecasting and budgeting, and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with IT, Finance, and Procurement.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud operations with FinOps focus, hands-on experience across multiple clouds, and strong skills in SQL and scripting for billing data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud engineering/operations with FinOps focus.
• Hands-on with at least two clouds and their cost tools (OCI + AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong understanding of pricing (RI/Savings Plans/egress/storage tiers) and workload patterns.
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python/PowerShell); building data pipelines for billing datasets.

Responsibilities

• Establish cost visibility via tagging/labels and cost allocation dashboards.
• Optimize and right-size cloud services; forecast and budget costs.
• Define cost guardrails and tagging standards; enforce governance in CI/CD.
• Manage billing exports; model unit costs and publish FinOps reports.
• Run optimization reviews with product teams; negotiate with providers; align with Finance on accruals.
• Ensure FinOps aligns with security/compliance and governance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years in cloud engineering/operations, 2+ years dedicated to FinOps or cloud cost management.
• Hands-on with at least two clouds (ideally including OCI plus AWS/Azure/GCP) and their native cost tools.
• Strong understanding of pricing constructs (RIs/Savings Plans/CUDs, egress, storage tiers, managed DBs, Kubernetes costs) and workload patterns.
• Proficiency in SQL and one scripting language (Python or PowerShell), experience building data pipelines for billing datasets.
• Experience with Terraform (or similar IaC) and governance (tagging policies, budgets, quotas).
• Ability to build executive & engineering dashboards (Tableau /Grafana) and deliver clear written/spoken recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder skills with IT, Finance, and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Visibility & Allocation: Establish tagging/labels and account/subscription structure, maintain cost allocation (business unit, product, environment). Build/show dashboards.
• Optimization & Right-Sizing for cloud services.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: Build forecasts, set budgets and alerts, explain variance (price/usage/mix), and support annual/quarterly planning.
• Define and enforce cost guardrails (budgets, quotas, egress policies), tagging standards, and non prod hygiene, integrate checks in CI/CD.
• Manage billing exports, model unit costs (e.g., cost per transaction/journey), and publish monthly FinOps reports.
• Run optimization reviews with product/platform teams, negotiate with cloud providers, align with Finance on accruals.
• Ensure FinOps processes align with security, SAMA data-residency, and audit requirements, maintain evidence for governance reviews.
