Job summary

Nisum in Hyderabad, India seeks an experienced DevOps/SRE specialist to design and support production-grade cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. You will implement IaC with Terraform, manage containers with Kubernetes and Helm, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

You will work closely with platform, security, and software teams to ensure high availability, security, and cost efficiency. The role requires strong scripting, automation, and hands-on experience with GCP services such as Compute

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Linux, networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, IAM, and security fundamentals.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and production cloud infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, and Cloud Router.
• Strong experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including cluster administration, upgrades, deployments, autoscaling, networking, security, and troubleshooting.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, and env-specific deployments.
• Good understanding of GCP IAM, service accounts, Workload Identity, org policies, Secret Manager, and least-privilege models.
• GCP networking design including VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, VPC peering, Private Google Access, Cloud NAT, VPN, and hybrid connectivity.
• GCP data and messaging services such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Spanner, Memorystore.
• Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container registries like Artifact Registry.
• CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar tools.
• GitOps deployment with Argo CD or Flux.
• Monitoring/logging/observability with Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.
• Troubleshooting production issues across apps, Kubernetes, networking, IAM, storage, databases, and cloud infra.
• High availability, scalability, DR, backup, resiliency, and production reliability practices.
• Managing SSL/TLS certificates, secrets, credentials, and secure app connectivity.
• Scripting/automation with Python, Shell/Bash, or PowerShell.
• REST APIs, JSON/YAML, Git, branching strategies, and automation practices.
• Production support/SRE experience including incident mgmt, RCA, problem mgmt, and perf troubleshooting.
• Collaborating with developers, platform engineers, security, networking, database, and SRE teams.

Job description

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, and Cloud Router.
• Strong experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), including cluster administration, upgrades, deployments, autoscaling, networking, security, and troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state management, and environment-specific deployments.

• Strong understanding of containers, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and container registries such as Artifact Registry.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar platforms.
• Experience implementing GitOps deployment models using tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Strong experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using Google Cloud Monitoring/Logging, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar tools.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues across applications, Kubernetes, networking, IAM, storage, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
• Good understanding of high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, backup, resiliency, and production reliability practices.
• Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates, secrets, credentials, and secure application connectivity.
• Solid scripting/automation experience using at least one language such as Python, Shell/Bash, or PowerShell.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, JSON/YAML, Git, branching strategies, and automation practices.
• Experience working in production support/SRE environments, including incident management, root-cause analysis, problem management, and performance troubleshooting.
• Ability to work closely with application developers, platform engineers, security teams, network teams, database teams, and SRE teams.

Good to have

• Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
• Experience with Anthos, Service Mesh, Istio, or advanced Kubernetes networking.
• Experience with Vault, Consul, Keyfactor, CyberArk, or similar secrets/certificate-management platforms.
• Experience with JFrog Artifactory/Xray, SonarQube, Snyk, or similar DevSecOps tooling.
• Experience implementing SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability engineering.
• Experience with workflow/orchestration technologies such as Cloud Composer/Airflow.
• Understanding of GCP data platforms including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience working in multi-cloud environments involving GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of FinOps and GCP cost optimization, including resource rightsizing, committed-use discounts, storage optimization, and cost monitoring.
• Exposure to AI/ML platforms such as Vertex AI, Generative AI, RAG, vector databases, and LLM-based applications would be an added advantage.
