Job summary

Google Cloud seeks an early-career data engineering professional to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures. You will design, migrate and operationalize storage and processing pipelines using cloud-native tools on Google Cloud Platform, collaborating with stakeholders to define migration strategies across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and AlloyDB.

You will implement data quality and governance, work with senior teams on modernization efforts, and contribute to large-scale data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering/math or related field.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting data processing algorithms and software using Python, Java, Scala, Spark, or Hadoop frameworks.
• Experience with a public cloud provider (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).

Responsibilities

• Interact with stakeholders to translate complex customer requirements into recommendations for solution architectures and advisory services.
• Design, migrate/build and operationalise data storage and processing infrastructure using Cloud native products; design migration strategies for various database types (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, AlloyDB).
• Develop and implement data quality and governance procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Engage with technical leads to lead high-velocity migration and modernization to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in developing and troubleshooting data processing algorithms and software using Python, Java, Scala, Spark, or Hadoop frameworks.
• Experience with a public cloud provider (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in working with/on data warehouses, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools, environments, and data structures.
• Experience in Big Data, information retrieval, data mining, or Machine Learning.
• Experience in building multi-tier, high availability applications with modern technologies such as NoSQL, MongoDB and SparkML.
• Experience architecting, developing software, or internet scale production-grade Big Data solutions in virtualized environments.
• Experience with IaC and CICD tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins etc.

Deep understanding of migrating databases using various methodologies, leveraging distributed data processing frameworks, including modern analytical and transactional data stores.
