Job summary

Google Cloud is hiring a Data and AI Engineer to shape enterprise cloud data platforms with streaming and batch processing, mentoring teams and delivering scalable solutions. You will craft architectural strategies, guide customers through complex AI deployments, and influence product roadmaps while coordinating with Engineering, Sales, and Product teams.

Ideal candidates have a solid track record in data engineering, software development with Python/Scala, and experience with Google Gemini/AI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience architecting and deploying enterprise-grade cloud data platforms, incorporating both streaming and batch processing workflows.
• Experience writing software in Python, Scala, R, or similar and experience with Gemini models, ADK, Gemini Enterprise and other Google AI products.
• Experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design and with solution engineering, stakeholder management, professional services, or technical consulting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advisory on architectural frameworks and operational best practices for comprehensive data & AI platforms, covering deployment, monitoring, evaluation, governance, and security protocols.
• Lead pre-sales and solutioning efforts for large Data & AI agreements and lead comprehensive AI initiatives through strategic thought leadership, while identifying agentic workflows and designing robust architectural solutions for advanced agentic implementations.
• Deliver effective big data and machine learning solutions and solve complex technical customer challenges.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to Google’s most strategic customers. Identify new product features and feature gaps, provide guidance on existing product challenges, and collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to influence the roadmap of Google Cloud Platform.
• Provide expert guidance on architectural data strategies to ensure optimized utilization across AI models.

Minimum qualifications:

• Experience with core Data Science techniques.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, including virtualization, hosted services, multi‑tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems, and content delivery networks and effective customer‑facing communication and listening skills.
