AWS Cloud (DevOps) Architect
Presidio is looking for an AWS Cloud (DevOps) Architect to interface directly with clients and contribute to small workgroups to deploy cloud-based solutions. The candidate must have proven experience in orchestration, configuration, and automation tools to build secure, reliable cloud platforms for customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop cloud design patterns and architecture framework required for the project implementation.
- Define architecture standards for the development team; encourage best practices and prepare technical documentation for project deliverables.
- Translate the design into an implementable pattern for the DevOps engineering team.
- Act as the single point of contact for any technical delivery related to a project.
- Provide technical thought leadership to the team with solution decisions, technical issues, and internal organization initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance on effort estimation to pre‑sales teams for client proposals.
- Manage project estimation, work breakdown structure, schedule setting, and project status reports to clients.
- Assist the Project Management team in defining and organizing tasks across sprints by participating in sprint planning and story point estimation.
- Mentor and guide team members on cloud technologies.
Must Have Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience with exposure to Cloud, DevOps, and Automation.
- 4+ years of experience designing and architecting public/private cloud, preferably AWS.
- Certified Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS Specialty certification.
- Strong knowledge of core infrastructure domains: Networking, Compute, Security, Backup, and Monitoring.
- Proficiency with IaC tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: Shell, Python, Ruby, Golang, PowerShell, etc.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Knowledge of cloud security tools and their usage.
- Experience with containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, or managed services like AWS ECS, Fargate, EKS.
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda and Step Functions.
- Experience in cloud security posture assessment (CSPA) and recommendations (AWS Security Hub).
- Experience with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
- Expertise in Business Continuity plans and disaster recovery design.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure cost management and optimization.
- Experience setting up Data Centre to AWS Cloud connectivity using Site‑to‑Site VPN and/or Direct Connect.
- Experience in large‑scale migrations to cloud with end‑to‑end migration methodology from discovery through build and migration phases.
Nice To Have Skills
- Experience migrating and transforming legacy solutions to cloud.
- Experience in database configuration and administration.
- Experience implementing landing zones and control tower.
- Deployment of applications or microservices via DevOps tools.
- Experience with K8s Lens or equivalent tools for administration and monitoring.
- Cross‑platform application integrations.
