  • Develop scripts and workflows using PowerShell, T-SQL, and cloud CLI tools to automate routine administrative tasks, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Support deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) efforts using tools like AWS CloudFormation or CLI.
3. Performance Tuning & Diagnostic Monitoring
  • Conduct query performance tuning, execution plan analysis, index optimization, and wait-stat analysis to resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Implement proactive alerting mechanisms and monitor wait stats to sustain peak database efficiency and system responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with application teams on schema refactoring, data validation, and query design reviews.
4. Technical Collaboration & Operational Governance
  • Work as part of a global database engineering setup to deliver robust, scalable data platform solutions.
  • Foster an operational culture focused on clear documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), detailed runbooks, and continuous process improvement.
  • Share constructive feedback during technical design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional technology teams.

5. Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with cloud providers (AWS, GCP), third-party database software vendors, and managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Oversee vendor SLAs, license compliance, contract renewals, and support escalations to ensure high-priority incidents are resolved rapidly.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal procurement/finance teams on FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud database spend and reduce infrastructure overhead.
