Job summary

IBM Bengaluru invites experienced software engineers to design, develop, and enhance backend applications in a cloud-native setup. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Go, or Python to build microservices and REST APIs, deploying on Kubernetes/OpenShift, and integrating GenAI capabilities where appropriate.

The role requires 4–7 years of hands-on experience, strong Git and CI/CD skills, and familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for IaC.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency of 5+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Go, or Python with expertise in at least one language/framework.
• Hands-on experience developing Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and distributed apps.
• Good level of Kubernetes/OpenShift, including Docker/Podman and public cloud usage.
• Strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) and Ansible; familiarity with GenAI/inference in backend services.
• Understanding of AI/ML workflows with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

Your role and responsibilities

• Experience withInfrastructure as Code (IaC) usingTerraform.
• Ability to design and operate aDevOps application lifecycle.
• Strong understanding ofCI/CD pipelines, especiallyJenkins, Github Actions, with hands‑on experience writing and debuggingJenkinsfiles.
• Knowledge ofGenerative AI systems, including:
• LLM inferencing and model serving, including experience withvLLM
• Integrating GenAI/LLM inferencing into backend services and APIs
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such asPyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit‑learn
• Understanding of performance, scalability, GPU utilization, and cost considerations for AI workloads in production

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Full stack development using Go, Python is plus.
• Advanced expertise inKubernetes/OpenShift and cloud service providers.
• Strong knowledge ofGenerative AI and inferencing, including:
• Scaling and operating inference workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Integrating GenAI capabilities into enterprise applications
• Ability to learn new domains and technologies quickly based on business needs.
