Job summary

Entity Jupiter Hospitals Projects Private Limited in India seeks a dedicated Critical Care professional for the Adult Intensive Care unit. You will take detailed histories, perform examinations, and coordinate care under the supervision of the Consultant Intensivist.

The role requires clear communication with consultants, nurses, and relatives, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, proper documentation, and strict infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Take detailed clinical history and perform physical examination.
• Inform admission/discharge/death to the Consultant Intensivist/Clinical Associate/Primary Consultant.
• Explain investigations and treatment plan to the concerned staff nurse.
• Follow up investigation reports and vital parameters and inform the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
• Ensure adherence to the consultant's advice and document it properly.
• Inform changes in vitals to the duty clinical associate and carry out orders with the consultant.
• Maintain infection control protocols in the unit.
• Address and discuss with relatives any change in treatment plan.
• Accompany the patient for investigations out of CCU such as MRI/CT.
• Explain and obtain consent for procedures in CCU.
• Perform procedures under supervision of consultants and clinical staff.
• Coordinate nursing-related issues with team leader and nurse manager.
• Attend seminars and participate in academic activities of the department.
• Prepare patients for procedures and fill MLC documents in consultation with consultants.
• Provide handover from on-duty clinical staff and attend clinical rounds.

Job Description

• To take a detail clinical history and perform physical and systemic examination and write the findings.
• To inform admission/discharge/death to the Consultant Intensivist/Clinical Associate/Primary Consultant.
• Explain the investigation and treatment plan to the concerned staff nurse.
• To follow up investigation reports and vital parameters and inform the same to the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
• To ensure that the advice and treatment given by Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant is followed and documented properly.
• To inform any change in vitals to the duty clinical associate and carry out his order in conjunction with the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
• To do MLC documents and inform the police.
• To ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols in the unit.
• To inform seniors and document all the events regarding the patient’s clinical condition.
• To address and discuss with relatives any change in treatment plan whenever necessary.
• To accompany the patient for any investigation out of the CCU such as MRI/CT scan.
• To report to clinical associate on call.
• To explain and take consent of any procedure done in the CCU.
• To perform and carry out the procedures under the supervision of the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant/Clinical Associate.
• To communicate any change in treatment plan to the nursing staff and team leader.
• To co-ordinate any nursing related issue to the team leader, nurse manager and clinical associate.
• To maintain discipline in the unit.
• To attend and present seminars and have an active participation in academic activities of all department.
• To perform bedside teaching programmed for nurses and new entrants.
• To prepare patient for procedures.
• To fill the death certificate/MLC documents in consultation with the Consultant Intensivist/Primary Consultant.
• To give and take a detailed handover from the on duty Clinical Assistant.
• To take/Attend clinical rounds with seniors.
• To report any unwanted events in the CCU to the Clinical Associate/Consultant Intensivist.
