Job Purpose:The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team.

Citi’s Global Product Control Technology Team is part of Global Functions Technology (GFT) within larger Enterprise Infrastructure Operations & Technology. Our Department provides services and solutions to improve our Client control processes inside Citi. Our IT solutions provided to Product Control and Treasury teams supporting the completion of their mission: to ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of Citi’s books and records. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide input during development and implementation phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objective, and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects.
- Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and partner with multiple management teams and other units to meet organizational objectives.
- Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements, recommend appropriate alternatives and enhancements by analyzing business processes, system, and industry standards.
- Identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose options, considering implications to the current business environment.
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking, develop innovative solutions, and influence strategic functional decisions.
- Engage with Business users / Program managers to capture, clarify on the business requirements and obtain sign-off on the requirements.
- Engage with IT development team, upstream / downstream systems to propose solutions.
- Translate requirements into Business Requirement Document [BRD], Functional Requirement Document [FRD] and/or Minor Development Document [MDD].
- Facilitate and drive project meetings with both business and technology teams.
- Conduct meetings with clients and key stakeholders to walk them through the UAT results, impact analysis results of the changes and receive formal release sign-off from approvers.
- Work closely with the operational functional teams, operations management and personnel, and various technology teams to facilitate a common understanding of requirements and priorities across all areas.
- Perform business and data analysis in development of requirements and in ongoing support of production applications.
- Analyze and explain counterparty mark-to-future exposures and collateral modeling on derivative books to users.
- Track and update project milestones and critical deliverables.
- Update various tracking SharePoint sites and metrics.
- Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards.
- Consult with the business clients to determine system functional specifications.
- Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards; recommend solutions.
- Install and support customer exposure systems.
- Lead system change process from requirements through implementation; provide user and operational support of application to business users.
- Consider the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identify and communicate risks and impacts.
- Drive communication between business leaders and IT; exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
- Provide sound understanding of business analysis concepts and principles and a basic knowledge of concepts and principles in other technology areas.
- Apply comprehensive understanding of how multiple areas collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives.
- Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
- Directly impact the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
Qualifications Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Science or Finance related discipline.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Technology and/or Finance industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of business analysis. Familiarity with techniques such as Business Process Modelling Language (BPML), Unified Modelling Language (UML) or use case modelling.
- Experience with all phases of Software Development Life Cycle, including different methodologies for design process.
- Excellent understanding of Product Control Function including market risk, financial instruments pricing, Independent price verifications, profit and loss controls & adjustments, Valuation adjustments, Profit attribution analysis (PAA) etc. Good understanding of financial accounting and Volcker Reporting is also an advantage.
- SDLC Project Management methodologies.
- Ability to manage and coordinate with various Technology Teams (Development, Product Assurance and Production Support Teams).
Technical Qualifications:
- Hands on Technical Business Analyst with good Data Modelling and Data Analysis skills in Oracle Database.
- Understanding of UNIX Shell Scripting.
- Development background in ETL (Ideally Abinitio) and data warehousing is a strong plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Visio and MS office applications. Knowledge of Databases, SQL and a desire to learn technologies for data access and data analysis.
