Qualcomm India Private Limited in Bengaluru is seeking a Chipset Architect to research, design, develop, simulate, and validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enable cutting-edge technology.

The role requires strong collaboration with design, software, product management, reliability, and customer engineering teams to meet system-level requirements and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Master's or PhD in related areas is preferred.
• Bachelor's in Engineering/Information Systems/CS or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Applies systems knowledge to research, design, develop, simulate and validate systems-level solutions.
• Analyze requirements and define interfaces, performance, and architectural definitions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and test features.
• Propose innovative ideas for product areas and drive system-level improvements.
• Triage problems at the system level and present debugging results.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.


• Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering


• PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.


• 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.


• Hands-on experience working in mobile, PC, XR, Wearable, Automotive, Consumer or Industrial IoT industry;
  
  
  
  • Experience with full product lifecycle from requirements gathering, prototype development, production, knowledge of PCB design flow, EDA tools, electrical and thermal simulations.
  
  
  • In depth knowledge of power delivery, PDN, component selection, tuning, Voltage regulators, PMICs, eBOM
  
  
  • Good knowledge of interfaces (USB, PCIe, SD/eMMC, UFS, LPDDRx, CSI, DSI, SPI, I2C, SPMI, Slimbus etc)
  
  
  • Good domain knowledge of 2 or more functional areas of SoCs such as Application Processor, Display, Graphics, Camera, Video, AI, Modem (4G/5G), WLAN, Power Management etc.
  
  
  • Working with a wide cross functional team comprising of various design and software teams, product management, reliability, functional safety, business, sales and customer engineering.
  
  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Applies Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met.


• Performs functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.


• Develops and analyzes system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.


• Collaborates with own team and other teams to complete project work, including implementing and testing features and verifying the accuracy of systems.


• Develops new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for a product or feature area.


• Drives triage of problems at the system level to determine root cause and presents results of testing and debugging to team members.

Level of Responsibility

• Works independently with minimum supervision.


• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.


• Requires expert verbal and written communication skills to convey information. Will require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.


• Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).


• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
