Job summary

This leadership role at the R&D division drives process development and large-scale synthesis to ensure timely delivery of projects.

The Chief Principal Scientist-R&D will design synthetic routes for organic molecules, reproduce processes with yield and quality, review reports, and guide the next generation of scientists

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry is required.
• Post-doctoral experience preferred.
• 20+ years of experience in process chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the R&D team to design and optimize synthetic routes for organic molecules.
• Develop robust new processes for large-scale synthesis for early-phase and commercial projects.
• Reproduce processes with yield, purity and quality targets.
• Review project reports, LNBs, logbooks, and weekly status updates.
• Ensure lab safety, quality, and adherence to cGMP norms.

Chief Principal Scientist-R&D

Job Description

To ensure that process developmental activities for PDS & API are executed and delivered on time. To Design Synthetic routes for Organic Molecules. To develop robust new process for large scale synthesis. To reproduce processes with yield, purity and quality for early phases. To review the project reports upon completion and weekly status reports.

• Strict adherence to cGMP norms and safety rules of the factory.


• Lead the team to design synthetic routes for organic molecules, develop and reproduce robust processes with yield, purity, and quality for both early-phase development and commercial projects.


• Review the chemical consumption sheets prepared based on the proposed route.


• Review the project evaluation reports prepared.


• Review the campaign reports upon completion and weekly status reports.


• Guide and support the team on literature searches related to RFPs, alternative routes, and other scientific information related to process development.


• Strengthen service culture and customer centricity by facilitating and supporting expected product delivery on time.


• Ensure improvement in safety, quality, yield, and simplification of the process in AFR projects.


• Ensure and monitor lab safety, lab housekeeping, and equipment maintenance in accordance with QMS, EHS, and customer requirements.


• Review documentation related to day-to-day activities, such as LNBs, logbooks, etc.


• Exhibit technical proficiency in literature review and presentation.


• Ability to lead and mentor/coach the next-in-line team to create a succession plan.


• Drive and ensure capability development of the team through imparting necessary on-the-job training.


• Ensure employees are actively engaged.


• Drive capability initiatives in consultation with HR.


• Provide developmental feedback based on performance assessments

Qualification: Ph. D in Organic Chemistry Post doctoral experienced candidate is preferred.
